Teddy could be our guy for the next 10 years.

I'd like to see him improve attacking the end zone still, but he is on the right track. Definitely could be a franchise QB if he develops that.

You and I are of the same mind. He’s *this* close to showing the world he’s ready to be considered in the top tier. It’s early so he can still level out or take off but he is showing signs. I really dig with Brady has done for us scheme wise but that can’t be a knock for Teddy because he’s doing exactly what is asked. Outside of a really bad three play stretch this past game I thought he was outstanding. It’s hard to judge things so early in the season. It looked like Mitch T was taking off at one point this season before becoming Mitch T again.

I get that, I’m not expecting to get another Cam. But getting a Herbert or Burrow or God willing a Mahommes or Jackson would improve this team immensely.

Herbert or Burrow?  How many post season games or Super Bowls have they one....totally unproven as many said the same thing about Luck.  I'd take Teddy over those two and Mahommes is the only one in my book with over all better skillsets in the run/pass package.  As I stated, it's still hit or miss and you seem fixated on knee-jerk instead of reality. Taking a chance in the draft is a big risk, then keeping 'em healthy and meshing with the offense still has to be considered.

You seem like the grass is greener type....until you get on the other side of the fence and realize it's not.

They have both already shown they can make passes Teddy cannot. I only think the grass is greener when I’m standing in a dead field. I was more than happy during the Cam years. I wasn’t even looking for a replacement during the Jake years til the last one. I just don’t wear rose colored shades about the current situation.  There’s nothing knee jerk about my viewpoint on the situation. Knee jerk was kicking Cam to the curb and replacing him with Bridgewater. We severely downgraded the position while paying the same amount of our cap to do so.  You seem to be the sort that’s afraid to take a risk and happy to sit in mediocrity.

Don't let perfection get in the way of the good. You can however look forward to continued upward progression in Teddy's play. Those of us who have followed his career can tell the difference between the player form Minnesota. and the player that he is now. You want a better quarterback? You'll have one next week. He continuously looks for ways to help this team win. For instance, Samuels key first down run was checked into at the line based on the dime package played by the defense. He completed eight straight passes in a fantastic two minute drive to end the first half. He also ripped off eight straight completions in response to Atlanta's first score. The important aspect of Teddy's game is that he gets better from game to game, and also from year to year.

The problem with those who want bombs away Teddy is that they want the kind of play that doesn't fit the makeup of this team right now. Todd Gurley, Leonard Fournette, and Josh Jacobs exposed our defense as kind of light in the ask. The ball control offense right now limits the defense's exposure to teams that want to exploit our inability to stop the run. So basically, what a lot of people are doing is picking at parts of Teddy's play in the hope that they find the fatal flaw that will get him replaced with a player to be named later. That's just a recipe for perpetual misery.

At this point last season Kyle Allen was on a tear and we were ripping off 5 straight wins.

I'd say pump the breaks on Teddy being the future the next decade until you have at least a season (and possibly post season) to look at .

Some things I'm looking for this year that'll make me much more of a believer of Teddy and the new coaching staff

- Winning record (we've had a losing record going on 2 straight seasons)

- Back to back winning seasons (a two year mark at the least but never been done in franchise history)

- Playoff win (even just 1. We've not had a playoff win since 2015 season and not been to the playoffs since the 2017 season)

My expectations will be tempered until one of the above happens , I'd be jumping for joy if they hit all 3.

If we go 5-11 or 6-10 again it's not going to sit well with me. That would make 3 losing seasons in a row and a crappy draft pick to go with it .

I thought we'd be terrible this season by looking at the below average roster. What didn't occur to me was that Joe Brady had the ability to squeeze every ounce of talent Teddy has to offer and turn him into prime era Drew Brees minus the deep ball. I did not see that poop coming at all! Brady is giving Teddy all the targets he wants at exactly the distance he wants to throw. Jackpot. Rarely is there no one open, and Teddy isn't worried about throwing the ball away if nothing is there because the next play is likely to be great.

For the longest time I've wanted a coach like Sean Payton. Well now we look similar to the Saints minus the screens and deep ball. This is so weird, but I like it. We're actually playing modern football and throwing when teams load the box. We're not afraid of throwing, or suffering from one bad play call after another. Most of our calls are good, and completing a good pass doesn't feel like a miracle.

What is the reality of our current situation? We're not as good as we think we are after these wins, and we're not as bad as we seemed after our losses. We're in between. We have a below average roster, above average coaches, and a QB who is on fire. Like I said this is weird. Damn weird. Teddy can't be on fire every game, so some games he's going to falter, and we don't have the talent to carry him to a win. When he's hot we can't be blown out. We'll be in every game when he plays well. There is no team in the NFL that worries me when Teddy is on target, but we don't have the right pieces in place yet to be a dominant team. Next season we will upgrade the roster and then look out. Right now it's on Teddy.

No, I like Cam but he and Ron's era was over...did you not see Cam's inability to pass downfield after the injury?  He was always a bit slow to check down and willing to use his athletic ability to force something not there at times. He had faults and without the threat of a deep ball....well, there you have it.  So, you were also willing to stake a huge investment on Cam's ability to return to that MVP year or anything remotely close?  It's not about mediocrity but reality, meaning ownership can't sit around and wait on the perfect pick in a draft or an aging injured QB to make hopefully a return to prominence.  Cam might go on to win a Superbowl with the coaching staff in NE, who knows.

It's not a downgrade if you evaluate all the variables of the situation and that the new regime decided to close the chapter on those years.  I think you're totally undervaluing the skillsets that TB brings to the table in terms of keeping drives alive, game time situation decision-making and winning pedigree. Instead, fixated on the novelty of a big arm QB which doesn't equate to success in the NFL.....plenty of those failed stories.
