I was MAD!! And Wrong!

I was pissed when the Panthers signed Teddy Bridgewater this off-season for a multitude of reasons. The first being I thought it would solidify our 7-9 or 8-8 record and prevent us from getting top talent in the draft and starting our "rebuild". The second being if the Panthers were really trying to convince the fan base to buy into this win NOW strategy, do you mean to tell me Teddy gave them a better chance than CAM?!

And while the Panthers may still be a .500 team at the end of the year, I believe that it WILL NOT be because of Teddy. It would be more likely b/c of the defense and first year coaching staff that would prevent sustainable success this season. Teddy has done everything in his power so far to get us a win each week, and hell the Panthers could easily be sitting at 4-1 right now.

Me and many Panthers fans that I have seen on here and other social media platforms have discredited his work, talent and ability to lead this team to wins and and WE WERE WRONG! He has gotten the most out of this offense without CMC, new o-line, no preseason, new coaching staff and a partially torn fanbase who didn't believe.

Hats off to Teddy Two Gloves, come what may I am a believer and fan, and I hope more Panthers fans who have not given him his credit will come to the realization that he CAN be that guy for our team.

I agree 100%. I doubted him and I was wrong. If he keeps this up we’ve found our franchise QB. What more could they ask out of him that he hasn’t done? His play lately is phenomenal.

Teddy is good enough to keep you out of draft position to land a top prospect but not good enough to give you a chance to actually compete for a SB. Teddy is purgatory.

I respectfully disagree. If Peyton Manning in the shape of the crypt keeper can win a Super Bowl, then I believe Teddy can as well. Granted we have to have a top 5 all time defense, but it is possible. However, I know highly unlikely. I think we are 2-4 players away from being a top 5 team in the league. 2 LBs and 1 safety. lol

Or just a legit franchise QB.

Exactly this. No one thinks Teddy is the worst QB we’ve had. No one dislikes him as a person. It’s just that some of us recognize that he was the worst possible direction for the team because he handicaps our future. We’re gonna have to get lucky to find a long term answer at QB.

    • I just switched to prime video with fanduel south. Will I be able to watch the Canes playoff games still?
    • I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.
    • Did I miss something?  The people we have developing players now are not the ones we've had in the past so I don't know what the heck people are talking about when they say we are not good at developing players right now.  We only have one year to go on.  Canales likes young players or players who are on an upward trajectory, especially in FA this year.  Past QB's and what he's done with Bryce are good examples. Tershawn Wharton - 26 Tre'von Moehrig - 25 Pat Jones II - 26 Bobby Brown III - 24 Michael Jackson - 28 Jaycee Horn - 25 Tommy Tremble - 24 We missed on Milton Williams but he's 26. Everyone else we picked up are on 1 year deals.  The Panthers new front office and Canales absolutely scream developmental team. Pick 8 (stay) Tier 1 Elite - Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter and Mason Graham Tier 2 Elite - Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, Will Johnson Trade down: There are quite a few really good players that fit us at Edge, DT, S and WR mid to late 1st and high 2nd.  Some combos that would be possible that I really like.  Imagine getting 2 of these guys by trading down. Stark, Pierce Jr, Golden, Scourton, Grant, Emmanwori, Ezeiruaku, Umanmielen, Deone Walker, Harmon and this is just off the top of my head.
