You really think the cap is going to go DOWN??  I could see it staying the same, as COVID is not a permanent thing.  You really think its going to go down almost 25 million dollars?  That would REALLY screw these teams that are handing out 40 million dollar contracts to QBs.  That would be 23% of your entire cap tied up in one player.

The league negotiated with the Union to allow a drop in the cap to 175M. My post never said it would happen, only that it could.

Our arrow is pointing up(amazing what a win will do...lets see how this is after a L)

Still have to deal with the Saints, losing brees will actually help them. I know they are in salary cap hell 2021, still have loads of young talent at each group. Hes a douche, but Payton is also a great coach too(top 5 for sure).

Bucs and Failcons will need to find their own Matt Rhule in 2021...

I think there is a pretty good chance the Panthers win the NFCS in 2021, something I didn't think they would have a chance of doing until at least 2023, they are way ahead of schedule.

- Bucs bought a on a one year superbowl attempt and still are mediocre.

- Brees last year in New Orleans.

- Atlanta, well, Atlanta is Atlanta

Folks, this is the quickest rebuild in NFL history. From nothing to respectable in a few months.

Good golly miss fuggin molly this feels good.

What makes you think we won't win it this year? Tampa and NO have looked like utter crap, we have played clean football and were one play from being FIRST in the NFCS and 3-1 RIGHT NOW. We had a bad game in Tampa and everyone thinks we suck when we played 3 really good football games.

D-line actually exists now, we have played VERY WELL defensively, especially holding Deandre Hopkins to under 50 YARDS.

We go 1-1 vs Tampa and NO in the division, we have the easiest schedule out of any of those 3.

We beat Atlanta this weekend, they'll likely be have an interim coach in Charlotte at home, thus could potentially be an easy sweep.

10-6 wins this division, 5 games in and everyone has two losses, nobody is going 12-4 here.

I want this to be true but it seems way too early to be talking about it. Finish the year and show what we really have, not 4 games into the season. Why can't we just enjoy the fact we have what looks like a very good coaching staff and potential direction? I'm just going to let them earn it and enjoy the ride.

Depends on who we find to play QB

I am seriously starting to wonder if Teddy is that guy.  Known commodity and he is playing well.  If he is a top 10 QB at the end of the season we should seriously consider rolling with him.  He is 27!

I feel like it at 4 games into this new regime this is jumping the shark quite a bit.

We are tracking ahead of where we are supposed to be but let's not get too carried away and set ourselves up for some serious disappointment. Lots of moving parts between now and the end of 2021. Take this game by game and enjoy the ride.

That is where I am, too.  The saying is that the number one cause of disappointment is unrealistic expectations.  I had about zero expectations coming into this season, so I have been pleasantly surprised thus far.

Add to that you can't really tell much from the first month of this or any other season.  I will say that the fact that we finished that first four games stretch strong is encouraging.

The main reason I could see us potentially winning the division next year, and I stress potentially, is because the NFCS looks like a division that may be on the decline.  Regardless of this weekend, Atlanta looks like a headless animal out there.  New Orleans has looked like a team that may have passed their peak.  And Tampa, well, what can you say about a team coached by Bruce Arians and on the arm of a 43-year old starting QB?  They went all-in, but the problem with all-in is it does not do much for next year.

This could very well bee a division that 8-8 or 9-7 wins in 2021.

I have been really excited about the offseason.  I have been since Tepper hired Rhule.  I didn't think we were going to tank, if so he'd kept the same players and probably the same coach.  Tepper wanted a cultural change and he went and got the right guy to do it.

Rebuilds have never been this whole ‘4-5 year plan’ madden fans seem to be obsessed with. It’s more like 1-2 years and even less. I can name a bunch of teams but people should look into it themselves. See Panthers 2001-2003.

It has much more to do with the FO making good moves and understanding the direction they want to go in. The good and even slightly above average FOs can do it it 1-2 years. The great ones do it in 1-2 years and then are consistent for the next 5 - that’s where almost everyone fails.

But where this whole mantra it takes 5 years to be even slightly competitive again...I have no idea where this dumb poo comes from.
