In before Covid 19 gets blamed for them sucking so damn bad.  They must have had it for the past 2 years before it was a thing as well

I’m not joking, it’s time this country takes a completely different approach to Covid, focus our efforts on protecting the at risk and elderly and let the rest of us build herd immunity. Look at NY and Europe, they shut down, destroyed their economies and look at them now, seeing surges anyway. Guess who isn’t seeing huge surges, Sweden.

Shutting things down only delays the pandemic, not delete it. When you shut things down you will just end up both broke and sick in the long run.

Enough is enough already. The NFL and the rest of the world for that matter needs to pick one. Either A. You shut everything down until there is a bonafide cure or vaccine, end of story, no matter how long it takes, economic impact be damned or B. You go all Sweden, refocus your efforts on protecting the high risk and elderly and let everyone else build herd immunity.

Now the Jets are testing positive, yet more game delays. We are 7 months and counting into this thing, there are reports that religious leaders in NY staged a mask burning protest after the mayor re closed schools and churches in nyc. This touch and go, on again and off again approach is starting to wear thin. It’s a matter of time before the NFL just takes the eff it approach and just let’s nature take its course.

No matter which side you fall on. Be it shut downs or herd immunity, you have to go all in and stop trying to half ass it.

Let's just use this thread as a catch all thread for COVID related NFL talk. As much as I'd like to just throw this in the TB and let you guy's rip each other to shreds, there are going to inevitably be plenty of NFL related COVID topics to be discussed. Players and staff are going to test positives. Games are going to be delayed, rescheduled, and possibly even cancelled at some point. Let's just try to keep it somewhat respectful and drop the BS.

How do we square this with Fauci saying he does not recall anything he has told Trump which Trump lies about/distorted to the public? Fauci has been in his position for decades. Why would he feel the need to say that, especially given the current polling numbers?

Sweden currently sits at 57 deaths per 100k according to John’s Hopkins. That ranks 15th in the world. I’m not sure at this point, but I intend to look into whether countries have the same standards for reporting a death as a COVID death. I mean, there is video of a health official in the US on a hot mic saying they instruct that a positive COVID test around the time of death, regardless of whether COVID was the cause of the death, is reported as a COVID death.

It seems odd that COVID can have such a high mortality rate in some places and an almost minuscule mortality rate in others. Is that related to healthcare alone? Is it related to quick intervention? Doesn’t seem likely given some of the countries with the highest mortality rates have low infection numbers. It truly makes me wonder if deaths are reported consistently across the world. If they’re not, the statistics may look vastly different.
The thing about the Asian community is that this is not new to them. They’ve been wearing masks for years in China, Japan, and other Asian countries. I admire the community-mindedness they show by wearing masks whenever they feel sick as to ensure they don’t spread things to others.

NYC has had a mask mandate but is currently experiencing an uptick. This goes to show one of two things: (1) masks still allow infection, or (2) even with the mandate, people, even in NYC, want the freedom (in a country created on freedom) to choose for themselves.

It wasn't a "hot mike", It was an actual press conference, and it wasn't just one person that said it either!
