I know this is hard for you to understand.

But young people don't care. Did you see spring break? I work with and associate with tons of young people.

Yes I care but there is no way you're going to get national mask compliance.

The majority of the country at this point are fed up with it. Which I think is a mistake.

The amount of young healthy people having a hard time with covid once infected is incredibly small.

That's just reality.

Plus even tho I want to wear a mask in stores I know and everyone knows that they aren't that effective.

You make it a mandatory and punishable by fine. That's how NY did it and cases dropped dramatically. Joe Biden will do exactly this when he becomes president.

I think that would have a hard time holding up to a constitutional appeal.

Secondly you do that and the entire nation decides enough is enough and revolts then what?

The reality is it's up to each person to protect themselves. If you are fat. Any type of drug user including tobacco. If you are old. If you have health issues protect yourself. Don't depend on others.

I'm sure Joe would try just like any communist dictator but I don't think it would be successful.

Titans–Bills moving to Tuesday if no more positives in TN.

Bills–Chiefs next Thursday moving to Sunday, unless TN has more positives then it goes back.

"Yo, Buffalo, you guys might be playing on Tuesday and Sunday ... then Thursday or Sunday, and find out as late as Tuesday playing on Thursday. Good luck with gameplanning!"

Pats–Browns moving to Monday.

Game forfeiture has been mentioned as a possible punishment for teams that don't follow the protocols, but someone pointed out today there's an inherent problem with that.

The league's agreement with the Players Association says that any player who doesn't play doesn't get paid, no matter what. That means that if you make a team forfeit a game, not only do all their players lose their paychecks but the opposing players do too (even if they did everything right).

Players stand to lose a lot here.

If it were not for the orange Cheeto completely ignoring everyone and letting it spread we might not be in this situation.

How do we square this with Fauci saying he does not recall anything he has told Trump which Trump lies about/distorted to the public? Fauci has been in his position for decades. Why would he feel the need to say that, especially given the current polling numbers?

Sweeden has one of the highest COVID death rates (per 100k).

I think if you look to places in Asia you find the best lessons of countries handling the pandemic well.   But I mean those are things we should of done months ago.   I mean we basically are doing herd immunity to a degree in America simply how of how half assed we have handled it.

Sweden currently sits at 57 deaths per 100k according to John’s Hopkins. That ranks 15th in the world. I’m not sure at this point, but I intend to look into whether countries have the same standards for reporting a death as a COVID death. I mean, there is video of a health official in the US on a hot mic saying they instruct that a positive COVID test around the time of death, regardless of whether COVID was the cause of the death, is reported as a COVID death.

It seems odd that COVID can have such a high mortality rate in some places and an almost minuscule mortality rate in others. Is that related to healthcare alone? Is it related to quick intervention? Doesn’t seem likely given some of the countries with the highest mortality rates have low infection numbers. It truly makes me wonder if deaths are reported consistently across the world. If they’re not, the statistics may look vastly different.
The thing about the Asian community is that this is not new to them. They’ve been wearing masks for years in China, Japan, and other Asian countries. I admire the community-mindedness they show by wearing masks whenever they feel sick as to ensure they don’t spread things to others.

NYC has had a mask mandate but is currently experiencing an uptick. This goes to show one of two things: (1) masks still allow infection, or (2) even with the mandate, people, even in NYC, want the freedom (in a country created on freedom) to choose for themselves.

Oh look another far right radical on this board. You constitutional rights don't apply in a crisis. Gov has the right to take extraordinary measures for public safety. That's held up in court for decades. It's also laughable you're blaming people of disability while it's more of you Trump fascist not wearing your masks killing people because the orange told you to do so. It's all about to end though come November when you realize Biden is up big and your little 4 year revolution of burning and fascism is over.

NYC is seeing an uptick because they are slowly opening up and the only reason it's not ramped again is because of the mask mandates being strictly enforced. I love how people say they don't work but we learn as a child to cover our mouths and nose when we sneeze to stop the spread of infection. Yet your Racist leader lies and says oh let's just avoid common sense and you follow like little sheep.

Actually I am pro mask when it makes sense.

I'm anti mask when it doesn't.

You understand it doesn't always make sense right?

How inept are people in this country when they look for Donald Trump or Joe Biden to "protect" them.

Good gosh we have lost our minds.  Neither of these bozos can do anything.

No wonder the weathermen say its gonna rain today and then tell you to take your umbrella.  The weather guy is "protecting" us

I’ve never said masks don’t work. I wear a mask in stores and closed spaces, not for my safety but for that of others. My wife and kids wear masks when we go out to stores or closed spaces.

I’m not taking an extreme stance saying, “Masks don’t work.” Have people just lost the ability to realize there are many more positions in a conversation than the two extreme, polar opposite positions?  You don’t have to answer that.
The CDC has studied the effectiveness of cloth masks. This is what many are actually wearing, as opposed to highly effective medical masks. There have also been studies on gaiters, which many are using. The masks most are wearing now can help slow things down, but they don’t shut it down.
There have also been studies showing people don’t use them correctly, don’t clean them every day as recommended, etc. Additionally, gaiters have been shown to further aerosolize any droplets expelled from the mouth/nose.
Again, I wear masks around others. Doesn’t bother me to do so. I just don’t get pissy and throw a conniption because someone else chooses not to do so. That doesn’t make me a sheep of Trump, who I did not vote for in 2016. It makes me someone who understands people make different decisions, and guess what? If it bothers me that someone doesn’t wear a mask, I can avoid them. So much for that common sense thing, huh?

Common sense has been banned.

It's an election year
