Of course, anything good equals Matt Rhule and anything bad is Hurney

Hurney has typically been bad in FA.

The fact that the panthers did well in FA this year points towards the new guys more than it does Hurney suddenly getting his act together.

Not at all. But in this instance:

Head Coach Matt Rhule was Robby's college coach and wanted him on this team.

Director of Player Personnel (Former Eagles exec) wanted Rasul (former eagle).

Just because there were connections does not mean Hurney had no imput or had to work out deals to get them here.

Yes, Hurney had the papers drawn up.

But if not for the new additions to the Panther staff, these guys likely would not be Panthers this year.

Head coaches and GMs work together.

Cooper, yes

Bridgewater was more Joe Brady than anyone according to reports. Hurn dog was cool with staying put at QB.

Yeah, I usually don't agree with you on well, anything. But, you're right in this instance. Hurney doesn't deserve much credit for anything at this juncture. Proof is in the pudding.

I'm not really a Hurney defender, but sometimes the amount of hoops people jump through to make him look bad is rediculous.

We all know Hurney's past. What's more likely, that Hurney jerked his head out of his ass and started making smart moves for once or all the new folks in the building played a pivotal role in these decisions?

I think we would have been fine staying put at QB though.  Cam would be having an MVP season with this coaching and offensive scheme.

I was assuming staying put meant sticking with Allen and Grier. I've always got the feeling that moving on from Cam was a Tepper call. He started putting out those breadcrumbs from the moment he signed the ownership papers.

Fair. I think Tepper was jealous of Cam as the face of the franchise. He even tried to “drip” but fell flat. Cam had to go lol
