IMO, Teddy's best throw of the game

When Teddy overthrew Robby in the end zone the ball was in the air 54 yards. Turns out he has decent arm strength, has just been gun shy. Appears to be getting over that now.

Even other coordinators are aware he can throw it deep now. There was a Moore first down catch where the CB was playing 10 yards off the line of scrimmage to “prevent the deep ball.”

One thing that really stands out to me about Teddy is his accuracy and anticipation.   More often than not he hits the WR right in stride, right in the numbers.  I have been very critical of Teddy B since he came here, but I am fully ready to eat crow on that.  He is looking legit thus far....and its not just dinking and dunking down the field.  He is solid on most all throws.  His deep ball sometimes leaves a little to be desired, but even that is not too bad.

thanks for the admission on eating crow.  as for the deep ball, most of his career the offenses he's been on have been built around shorter passes and a running game.  The circumstance of 2020 (new young defense, no CMC) is forcing a very different offensive requirement, which he's adjusting well to, but he's only going to get better throwing long, is my point.

That is a strength we have now that we have not had for a while.  Cam was a showman, a great athlete, but I said many times on here that he does not read the defenses fast enough.  There is a point when the ball is supposed to arrive---the leg being open to the pass vs. across the body when the ball arrives, before the db recovers, etc.  That is why jamming at the LOS is a strategy--it throws off the timing. Cam would run, scramble, etc. and make unreal plays, but Teddy is just going to deliver the mail.

I think teddy's temperament (calm, unemotional) is better for this team as well.  I always thought Cam's emotions hurt morale.

They’re just different players and different people. Cam’s emotions galvanized the team and motivated them IMO. But this team is so damn young that they see a veteran QB who’s calm, cool and collected and they follow his lead.

And it went for 23 yards or so. DJ cut outside and was just chilling by himself. The DB assumed it was a go route (probably because to this point, many of DJ’s targets had been and Robby is on the quick hit/slant/curl targets).

I’m the same, man.  His accuracy for allowing receivers to get YAC has been great, especially since our receivers are YAC guys.  Gone are the days of the possession guys.  He’s done a great job overall.  He still takes the checkdown a lot, but whatever.  It’s better than a pick and he’s throwing it to guys who can get yards, plus we haven’t had problems moving the chains.

I might have a bit of consumption, because I have TB fever

I think the day we hired Brady signaled the departure of Cam.  Cam has a whole different set of strengths and power to his game than Teddy, but Teddys game suits Bradys offense a bit better in my opinion.  On the one yard line however, I would love to have Cam in, haha.

I'd agree.

I know a lot of people blame Tepper for Newton being gone, but I've long believed that Joe Brady was the primary catalyst there.

I’d say that was his second best throw. The one late for a crucial 3rd down conversion of like 15 yards, I think it was to Samuel, was better IMO. Bridgewater and two or three really nice crisp passes up the middle yesterday. He was noticeably better than the first three games.

ive felt like it was the contentious public contract situation.  just thought rhule was trying build a different culture and there were too many intense emotions to do that with cam here.  they didn't know cam.  brady knows teddy.  but i can see y'alls point though.    i think its worked out pretty good for both parties.  teddy is doing well, cam is doing great and sounds better than ive ever heard him.
