This is what I am waiting for.  I've seen enough with pretty much every other aspect of his game to be comfortable with him as our franchise QB.  The only question I still have is his mid-range to deep ball.  I don't think he needs to have a cannon, or even rely on the deep ball as a staple of his game.  He just needs to show that he is capable of completing the deep pass when he needs to.

Drew Brees has never been a big deep ball thrower, but he was so efficient at the sort to intermediate stuff that when defenses cheat, he could burn them deep.  A QB doesn't need to have the strongest arm to be a legit Super Bowl QB, they just need to be able to make all of the throws and not allow the defense to cheat because they can't complete a long pass.

So, hopefully, as he develops rapport with the receiving corps, we'll start seeing more of those long passes being completed for big gains/TD's.

People talk a lot about franchise QBs like they are something that just arrives on the field, day one -- Boom! Touchdown Machine! And a few do, like Cam or Mahomes.

But look at the list of all time greats. When they started out they were what would now be called "game managers". Joe Montana worked the West Coast offense and was the master of distributing the ball around in short to medium range who was blessed to be paired with Jerry Rice. Brady was just a no name kid who came off the bench and could both manage the heck out of a team and find the open receiver.

I'm not saying Teddy is going to be in their league or get a yellow jacket, but he is a good, efficient QB who is showing some surprising mobility and a really gifted ability to work the plays and the players on the field. That will win you games, a lot of games. It could win championships, too.

And I think yesterday we saw the beginnings of Bridgewater opening things up and shedding the overly careful/game manager concerns people have had with him.

I believe that as he gets to know his teammates better and becomes more comfortable with the offense, the more at ease he'll be taking chances.  I also think Rhule is probably the most aggressive coach he has ever played for, so he will likely be encouraged to take more shots now and then instead of just playing it safe.

I also think CMC being out is a double edged sword in a way....

with CMC out, we are less predictable on offense.   He is our best player.  Hands down.   But with him not available I think it is tougher on a D to dial in on what the O will do.

We are clearly better with him BUT I think there is an argument a coach might call a better game not focused on a super stud.  The results probably vary with that though.

I was also impressed with his accuracy yesterday. He was hitting guys in stride, allowing for better run after the catch. There were a couple of balls placed just over the defenders hand. A less accurate throw would be picked, but he nailed.

He did miss a pass to Anderson that would have been a long touchdown. Those will come with more time and reps together.

His accuracy was excellent and imo has been since game 1. Every Qb overthrows a ball or misplace one here and there. The interception was a slight overthrow but was a good read. One pass that impressed me in particular was the throw to Anderson between two defenders.

I didn't see that as a miss.  He dropped a dime on Anderson in the EZ -- the S just made a great play to break it up.
