Credit to Samuel

Curtis Samuel had a really good game yesterday, and was a big reason our offense was able to put up 31. 2nd in the team in receiving yards (51), ahead of DJ, despite being 4th in targets (4 targets). All 3 of his catches were first downs, with 2 of them coming on 3rd and 8+ to keep the drives going. May not have put up huge stats but he was extremely valuable and clutch yesterday and he deserves some credit.

I think we're seeing him emerge into a good WR3. I also think our WR coaching is getting better, along with game planning that makes use of multiple wide receiver sets.

And say what you will about Teddy, but he can work through progressions with the best of them.

I still think he's the best high point, 50/50 ball catcher we've got. One of those first downs yesterday he went up over a guy to snag! Love it!

I want us to use him more, I feel like we are wasting his talent.

I don't think we will be wasting him anymore with this coaching staff. Thank God we have someone who finally knows how to use all of our players and not just CMC or whoever Ron would decide to be the star player for the year.

I was also impressed with his accuracy yesterday. He was hitting guys in stride, allowing for better run after the catch. There were a couple of balls placed just over the defenders hand. A less accurate throw would be picked, but he nailed.

He did miss a pass to Anderson that would have been a long touchdown. Those will come with more time and reps together.

People talk a lot about franchise QBs like they are something that just arrives on the field, day one -- Boom! Touchdown Machine! And a few do, like Cam or Mahomes.

But look at the list of all time greats. When they started out they were what would now be called "game managers". Joe Montana worked the West Coast offense and was the master of distributing the ball around in short to medium range who was blessed to be paired with Jerry Rice. Brady was just a no name kid who came off the bench and could both manage the heck out of a team and find the open receiver.

I'm not saying Teddy is going to be in their league or get a yellow jacket, but he is a good, efficient QB who is showing some surprising mobility and a really gifted ability to work the plays and the players on the field. That will win you games, a lot of games. It could win championships, too.
