I said that Teddy imo was playing the best of the NFC South Qbs and you said he was not because touchdown passes even though he led in just about every other statistical category.

That’s a major part of it. If you told me you want to compare four players and abc all have more scores and better touchdown to turnover numbers but D has a higher completion % and more yards im going with abc.

Two simple questions...

1. Do you think Teddy Bridgewater is good enough to win a Super Bowl in today's NFL?

2. Do you want the Panthers to win a Super Bowl?

I'm going to need a LOT of convincing to believe that the answer to #1 is "yes". My answer to #2 is "HELL YES" and that's why I want a legit franchise QB. It's nothing against Teddy.

It really is this simple. Watching the top-tier guys exploiting defenses and changing games by chucking 50-60 air yards passes and flipping the field makes it abundantly clear. Hell, watching New Orleans consistently be also-rans for the past decade makes it abundantly clear as well.

Carefully optiimistic, heck he's "on pace" to break the Panthers passing yardage and completion % records and averaging almost 9 per attempt.

Yards is awesome if he can convert to scores. Just a game ago we had to kick 5 field goals because all those yards got us one score. And the defense gave him the ball four times. 9 per attempt is nice though.

We sucked last week in the redzone, that is TRUE but we have been very efficient with the exception of last week, whens the last time we coverted third downs at this kind of clip?

When the Panthers were down and Teddy threw for a bunch of yards he got crucified for it coming in “garbage time”. Today he plays so well and puts the team in great position for the duration of the 4th quarter and is crucified for his “on pace for” numbers...

This board would find reasons to hate on Mahomes if we had him.

They'd say that he couldn't throw the deep ball starting week 1 because he had one attempt further than 20yds that went incomplete and even then, it was 38yds and not 40yds so somehow that doesn't count?

Can't find me complaining or crucifying Teddy for "garbage time" stats.

Exactly. Spiking the football over Teddy exceeding expectations while he's on pace for 16 TDs and 12 INTs is missing the forest for the trees. Exceeding expectations for this year was winning a few games. That's irrelevant. The goal should always be competing for a SB and if you're not there, making the moves to get there. I just don't think Teddy is a good enough QB to give us a legit chance to compete for a SB. That's all I'm saying. If we draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd next year solidifying that the plan was for Teddy to be a stop gap and wet nurse, trust me I'll STFU about it.
