But I thought it was all about throwing td passes and other stats were meaniless.

I never said that. So that would be a stupid thing to imply. You wouldn’t be stupid, would you? Even if you account for rushing TDs and Fumbles lost he’s not on pace for good scoring to turnover numbers.

Jameis Winston threw 33 touchdown passes last season he must be great right?

I love how this whole “he’s only on pace for...” is even a thing.

There was NO pre season. You can practice all you want but live game reps are different. A new OC, new WR’s, new everything and people sitting here acting like they’re all going to instantly gel? Of course he’s not going to set the world on fire the first few weeks but today was definitely a nice step in the right direction.

Two simple questions...

1. Do you think Teddy Bridgewater is good enough to win a Super Bowl in today's NFL?

2. Do you want the Panthers to win a Super Bowl?

I'm going to need a LOT of convincing to believe that the answer to #1 is "yes". My answer to #2 is "HELL YES" and that's why I want a legit franchise QB. It's nothing against Teddy.

That’s what you do when looking at numbers 1/4 of the way through a season. Or we can just say he’s in the bottom 10 for scoring of all starting QBs.

I want extended long term success as well. That’s why I’m not celebrating our starting QB being on pace for 16/12.

He's better so far than I've expected, and at this point I don't us being in postion to take a top QB prospect so lets just hope he continues to improve, If Okung and Daley get healthy he could have pretty good protection let's not forget with no pre-season/offseason we are essentially just now reaching week 1 reps.

Remember the fable of Kyle Allen, 5 games do not make a season. Teddy looks like who he always has and is playing very well in this system. He was fun today. He is still completely upgradable and is not a franchise QB. That's just the reality. Happy that his knee looked good in the runs, that's a huge positive for what he has been through. With Teddy taking a project QB might be the next step, Mahomes and Smith is looking like the blueprint that we need to follow.

All of this.

If he blossoms into career years I’m all for it.

Which will give more consistent long term success: a new QB or addressing the OL where only 1 out of 5 of the starters are under contract and the one that is could open up a decent bit of cap space if the team moved on from him?

Which given the circumstances I pointed out above the whole “on pace for” thing is absolutely meaningless.

But you seem to be fixated on it for some reason

I said that Teddy imo was playing the best of the NFC South Qbs and you said he was not because touchdown passes even though he led in just about every other statistical category.

I’m fixated on comparing him to the rest of the NFL. Bottom 10 is still bottom 10.
