Exactly. Nickle is still Donte's natural position IMO.

Would like to see. Maybe that combo would approximate an actual adequate group

I see this said a lot. Care to elaborate? Is it because he’s perceived undersized but quick? Generally speaking, corners with poor tackling skills and spatial/leverage awareness make bad nickels.

If donte Jackson played FS and I was the opposing coordinator. I Would attack his side of the field all day, especially in the running game.

He is targeted quite a bit anyways, in both the pass and run. Bradbury was luckily replaced by Douglas leaving Jackson as the best matchup to go against. Could make a good deep safety but that's really just trying to make the most of the situation with him. At least with that we could allow him to roam with speed and get him away from the LOS. Looking at our safety play I have to ask why not if another CB is playable at that spot?

Why would we put someone who can’t tackle at safety? Also, keep targeting Jackson, he leads the team in interceptions. Also, as for targets most of the passes from the last game were in the deep middle and middle right. Opposite side of Jackson. Not saying he is a lockdown corner, but he isn’t another corn elder. take a look at the chart below... Los Angeles stayed away from throwing at him.

As a deep safety he could be in a position to get more interceptions. Unfortunately our Safety play is the weakest link of the backfield, he could actually be an improvement there even with his awful tackling. I have no idea if it would work but with our Safety play, why not give it a try? We won't always play rookies making a 1st start.

I'm not so sure. Your nickelback essentially becomes that third LB on running plays. His aversion to contact and tackling issues very well may be why two coaching staffs have both seemed very hesitant to play him there.

Moving Jackson from the corner to safety just creates another hole on our defense, except at corner.

Yup but Pride is learning and Apple is active, our safeties are both really bad. It could be a complete bust but at some point it could be worth a shot.
