While I agree that Moore has done an OK job this far, expectations do matter. Catches matter also, because they usually translate to moving the chains.

I thought DJ had a very good game today.  Caught just about everything thrown his way, made the most of what he was given.  And knocked away what might have ended up being an interception at a critical point in the game.

How many does he have to have to better than ok?  Does that fact the we still don't throw the ball as much as many teams do, and we throw to the backs more than other teams do factor into this at all?

Personally, I would hate to see Anderson and Moore get a 100 catches a piece with the rest of the team battling for scraps.  Its much harder to beat a team that spreads it around a lot.

I think we throw it enough. My thing is that I don't in any way see him.carrying the team, but I do see him as a good complementary piece. I'm not going to pay a complementary piece top dollar. Now if he wants to remain a Panther at a competitive rate, that's all fine and good, but if he is going to demand top dollar, I'd let him walk. Honestly, when you look at entire bodies of work, Anderson might deserve more than Moore at the moment. This could all change with an injury to Anderson or if DJ raises his game, but the current track says Anderson is the more valuable guy.

Reggie is everything you could ask for in a change of pace back. Everything.

Davis is everything you need in a RB2 and he'd be a darned good starting RB on half the teams in the league. We're lucky he ended up here.

CMC is going to be a legendary RB.

We're mighty blessed when it comes to our running backs around here and I'd be very, very reluctant to put Reggie back on the practice squad after this. He'll get snagged in a heartbeat.

Fair enough.  But I have to admit I don't really care that much what we pay him in the future, at least not now.  To me, that is an offseason topic.  But at this point in his career this season, he is doing exactly what he should be doing.  He is our second leading receiver among wide receivers and has the highest yards per catch average.  I am happy with him.
