First of all I said hesitant, not that there was no way I would pick him.  There were already questions because he did what did vs inferior competition, now his 1 and only game he plays this year is a dud. At this point he looks like a project, and no one wants a project in the top 10.

As a top 10 or even top 5 pick, he is a huge gamble.  But with Bridgewater, we could trade back--say around 20-30, and take him knowing that we could groom him for a year--he has a year on the FCS level of experience--an impressive year, but NDSU dominates over that level of competition.  They have developed a great program there---like App St did a few years earlier.

And we drafted Armanti Edwards way too early.

This kid is a lot better and will play QB---and he fits the new-era QB mold nicely--but he needs some time, in my opinion.

And if they keep losing, they may play him just to see what they have in him.

And the Texans are 0-3.  I can't imagine they would draft a QB if they ended up with a top five pick.

If the Texans keep losing it doesn't matter who they would or would not dtaft. The Dolphins have the Texans 1st and 2nd round picks this year.

As for Lance, I am skeptical about his transition to the NFL.

When Mahomes came out, he sat for a year, as did some others. That's probably the way that it should be.

You guys put too much stock into one game, the first game back during a pandemic. Like I said lance had balls to want to play that game because he had everything to lose.

you look for traits and intangibles. He has all that. Whoever drafts him needs to sit him for a year.

He has played so few games that this is a product of that. All these other guys have also played in a first game back from a pandemic, some against much better competition and played way better. He put one quarter of good tape in this game and three quarters of question marks.
We aren’t in a position to draft dudes to sit for years and not contribute.

Isn't that perfect for us? Hopefully he last to where we will be picking. He could sit and learn behind a great guy and teammate in Teddy.

Instead of drafting a guy that can help Teddy or our defense now?

He had a bad game. It happens. I stand by what I said.
