He was a true freshman and UNC had a TON of drops last year.

I keep hearing that but he didn't have a bunch of drops today. Like I said this offseason, he has some definite talent but I still question his ability to be an NFL guy.

To be determined.

This would make me hesitant to make him our first pick for sure

Look, I have no clue if this kid is going to be good or not but one bad half coming off of a crazy preseason shouldnt move the needle one way or the other.  I didnt watch but in reading about him this morning most articles said he was rusty in the first, found his groove in the second and there were a lot of dropped balls.  I am not advocating for him one way or the other (would probably still take sewell if that was the choice) but to make a judgement based on one half is ludicrous

He probably is not ready for prime time, like Jeremy states.  And you are right as well.  Here is why I think Lance is a great prospect for us to target:

I was happy he showed some rust/rawness.  Teams taking him in the top 10 are looking for a messiah more than a QB.  He is not ready for that.  They need an instant starter.

We don't.  Bridgewater is not a superstar, but he is not our weakness either.  We can compete with him, especially if we upgrade the OL and get a good MLB on defense (to get the ball back).  If we like Lance, take him, and plan to start him in 2022 or even 2023.

So his stock may have dropped--good.

I dont know what that means?  What is prime time?  A 330 game on espn plus that a fraction of the country can see.  Or a big game like going undefeated and shining in the championship game?  In regards to yesterday he probably was just rusty and forcing a lot more than he needed to do.   I read about 4 articles and they all were positive about him and yesterdays game so I am not worried if that is who we decide on.  I trust Bradys scouting

First of all I said hesitant, not that there was no way I would pick him.  There were already questions because he did what did vs inferior competition, now his 1 and only game he plays this year is a dud. At this point he looks like a project, and no one wants a project in the top 10.

An expression.  I explain it in my post---Ready to start in the NFL.  But in Carolina, he has 2 years to get ready.
