Trey Lance makes his last official CFB start Saturday vs Central Arkansas.

Not a great game for Lance. Rushing saved him a lot but he's not gonna be sustainable like that in the NFL. Beautiful deep ball but consistency and level of competition are valid concerns.

If you draft him you like what he presents as a play and understand he's not a finished product at all. Biggest risk of the three QBs but a pretty high ceiling theoretically (all depends on how driven he us to improve at the position and not just rely on his gifts). Could probably play right away in a highly skilled offense (not ours lol) otherwise sit im'.

If his pre-draft goes well he's a top 5 pick at the highest. Right now I'd say he's in the 7-15 range. His floor is probably mid second like Kaep

If Love made it to the first round last year based on prior season stats, Lance is a lock for a 1st rounder.

I would let another team make that mistake. Love at least had a ton of starts under his belt and I never thought he was a first rounder and all reports from Packers camp is this kid has a LONG way to go. Lance has way too many games where he doesn't even throw the ball 20 times for my liking.

I don't think Howell is a guy. He suffers from accuracy issues and that does not bode well for his NFL future.

Still just a sophomore, though.

Wait until he hits his rhythm. Everything about that UNC offense looks out of sync right now. Protections are off. Timing is off. It's all rusty right now. That game cancellation didn't help. They'd only played one game before today and that was three weeks ago.

Could not the same thing be said about Trey Lance’s performance today? The last game they played was forever ago...

The defense was fine and the running game was good even if you took Lance out of it. The only thing not working for NDSU was their pass attack today.
That said, Howell was a better looking passer today.

Eh. Last year he was the same way 50% on and 50% off. Hence his overall completion percentage. That is what I want to see from him, consistency. Yes there might be some rust but that was also the #12 team versus a traditional ACC basement dweller. Those are the games you really need to shine in and he didn't.

Like I said, two games in and a mixed bag. We will see how it goes the rest of the season.

He was a true freshman and UNC had a TON of drops last year.
