I think the jury is still out. It's just his third season and a season with no preseason. We're seeing a lot of secondary's across the league getting scorched in this early season, because of no preseason IMO, and we cannot forget the coaching/system change. Let's see how the season plays out. Jackson has to mentally mature, I think one of his issues is staying positive and focused on the game itself. The kid has the ability and potential, he just has to put it all together and have the desire to do so. Let's give him a little more time, his pics CAN change the tide of a game.

The word to use is "inconsistent".  

I also would never call any corner "just a slot guy" if he's good in the slot in today's NFL.  A lot of NFL offenses pick teams apart down the middle with curls, ins, and slants.  A guy who fits the slot position better can be a huge asset.  I think Donte would be a better slot guy.

I get all the skepticism, and I've been critical of him, but certain aspects of his game are really good right now.

Basically, I think he's showing that he has a place. Outside or inside, injury susceptibility and how much money will be the questions if he continues on his current track!
