This. I still don't know what to make of him ultimately. I'm not so sure that his skill set wouldn't be best served as a roaming deep FS where his best traits (speed, range, and ball skills) would be best served while limiting his biggest weakness (aversion to contact).

I like that idea. Maybe next year when we dump our starting safeties for anyone else and pick up a CB that can play along with Douglas being extended. At worst, he would be just as bad as the two we have but a lot faster.

Never did. I don’t expect him to be Sherman or Norman, but he’s still young and plays better than 80% of young corners. He makes boneheaded plays, but corner is one of the most difficult positions transitioning to the pros. He’s easily worth the 2nd rd investment we made in him.  If he never gets any better, then he should just be demoted to nickel corner and is still worth the 2nd.  He has high upside though and could end up a steal.

I don't hate him but I don't think he's all that great nor is he built to play in the NFL.

He's gotten hurt and taken time off each game this year.

He also gives up a ton of receptions because he's so small. His two picks were him playing zone, not Man to man. The play against the Chargers was a great play, no knock against it, the one against Tampa was right place at the right time with a horrible throw from Brady.

Also not that it means much but this:

TL;DR:

Ehhhhh?

I always think it's silly when people talk about "hating" a player just because you think they're not very good.

Jackson reminds me of Charles Godfrey. He'll occasionally come up with a highlight, and if that's all you see of him you think he's good. If you watch a complete game though, you'll see he gives up as many plays as he makes.

Well hell, He'd be better than Boston if we stuck him back there Sunday. Why not?!?
