We have a QB right now, can we stop acting like he doesn't exist?

We're evidently just looking for "good enough right now", whatever that means. Evidently it means possibly winning just enough games to watch the top QB prospects drafted elsewhere.

somehow the panthers always doom themselves to mediocrity

You don’t build around QBs like Teddy, Alex Smith, Andy Dalton ext....

For them to succeed everything needs to be near perfect and that’s just not how this league works.

People keep mentioning his yards, you guys are starting to sound like Falcons fans with Matt Ryan, all meaningless garbage time

Even if 3-0 we would have zero chance of winning the Superbowl correct?

If that's the case might as well get the number 1 pick.

You might wanna research that, history hasn’t been kind to starting QB’s drafted first overall by their original team in the Super Bowl era.

Umm the Chiefs won a Super Bowl building around Alex Smith

A lot of people are looking at a snapshot in time and thinking that that's all there is. Well it's not.  The formula for success is percolating around Teddy and it resembles the 2014-2015 Vikings with an all pro running back as the face of the franchise. Add a couple of thumpers at linebacker and a shut down corner, and this team will be hunting playoff bling.  It is also not an accident that the passing offense is right now the best part of this team, yet CMC does have four rushing touchdowns in two games. That means that the Panthers are getting credibility on offense and a work in progress on defense in their first year together.  Who is to say that the offense can't improve. Did anyone notice the new hard count? The free play is coming soon, and then shots will be taken.

Tanking doesn't work for players and coaches who's security depends on the product that they put on the field. That shinny number one pick that the fans want comes at the cost of jobs and contracts.

The chiefs got three miracles for their Superbowl.

The bears took Mitch

We took Cmac

And whoever they got their pick from fell in the top 10. ( Cause I'm pretty sure it wasn't theirs but could be wrong)

Chiefs won a Super Bowl building around Mahomes. Chiefs never even made it to the AFC Championship with Alex Smith. He was pretty much holding them back.
They did well during the season and then choked in the playoffs. Kinda see Teddy doing that if we keep him. You can’t play like the way he does, conservative safe play, and be successful against playoff teams.

Yep, the Chiefs went and drafted Tyreek Hill, Chris Jones, Travis Kelce, Eric Fisher all to surround Mahomes with the pieces he needed... Smh

The Chiefs already had a big part of their core locked in. Once they realized they needed an extra push they went and grabbed Mahomes. The built a good team FIRST then went and grabbed their QB of the future. Maybe Sam Darnold wouldn’t suck so bad right now if he walked into a similar situation. The Chiefs did it the right way. The built around Smith, realized he wasn’t getting it done so they went and got Mahomes.

Since drafting Mahomes the Chiefs have drafted the following offensive players prior to winning the Super Bowl...

Kareem Hunt, Jehu Chesson, Tremon Smith, Mecole Hardman, Darwin Thompson, Nick Allegretti...

I’m willing to bet you know at the absolute most, 2 of these players... one who wasn’t on the Chiefs roster when they won the super bowl

Teddy is great if you know you aren’t going to win a Super Bowl. That’s why I think some of you like him. You’re okay with zero expectations for this franchise and team. You really think Teddy can compete with guys like Mahomes and Rodgers and Jackson? lol

Just hoping we get one of the top three guys this season and we won’t have to worry about QB for a long time

What's yours?

I’m not the one who asked the question to begin with, but I’ll play. Since there are only a handful of “elite” QB’s I would say a “franchise” QB is someone who has the football IQ and physical capability that translates to consistently put the team in a position to win based on what their job entails season after season.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
