We have a QB right now, can we stop acting like he doesn't exist?

Bridgewater isn't a franchise quarterback, and he was never going to be.

With that said, he's decent to good with a skill level I'd probably put about equal to Jake Delhomme though he's a very different style of quarterback from Jake.

Back during the Delhomme years, people hungered for a franchise quarterback forever but we were stuck with a coach who didn't believe in that model. Now we have a coach who seems to believe in the idea, but fans are scared we're going to play ourselves out of the opportunity to get one.

What it's like being a Panther fan...

Jake had a much stronger arm and beyond that had the guts to make a play when we absolutely had to have it.

I don't think Teddy can will us to victory.

Teddy is no Jake.

More somewhere between Steve Beuerlein and Matt Moore.

Oh, you think we're competing for a playoff spot? That's cute.

no but you can't really evaluate very well with him back there. guys would just quit.  and what's with the 'that's cute'?  are you in a 12 year old girl phase - or is it more karen?

I like Teddy. I like that he’s accurate and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with his willingness to take off when a play breaks down.

I’m not crazy about the consistent dump-offs for two or three yards on 3rd and medium in the red zone. I’d rather, when it’s an option, just run CMC and chance him getting to the corner over a two-yard completion to Ian Thomas, etc. on a drag route.

All that said, his choices to play it safe yesterday worked. Had he forced one ball that got picked, we don’t win.

If you look at team needs, it would look something like this:

  • MLB
  • LT
  • C
  • S
  • TE
  • G
  • CB
  • DT
  • QB

However QB is the most important position, and we have an average QB.  I would not dismiss an upgrade, but I do not see us having to have one right now--if we win 5 games this season, how many could we win if we added a stud MLB, LT, CB, and C?  Would that make Bridgewater better?  Of course it would.

Or you can grab a young, unproven QB and hope he can survive without all the pieces in place.  I am not sure what we should do--it is a tough call....

Nice list but GM needs to be near or at the top

I like Teddy, great story, but he hasn't shown me anything that makes me think wow this guy could carry us to a Superbowl. With an incredible team around him he wouldn't lose you games but he isn't going to elevate the team to a new level like Cam did

Anyone watching Patrick Mahomes tonight that still thinks Teddy is good enough needs an evaluation.

That's a bad man! And he's going to be kicking ass for a long time! It's going to take great defense and a special QB to knock them off.

The Chargers made Mahomes and the Chiefs look mortal late into the game, and we beat the Chargers. I'm trying to figure that out!

We're evidently just looking for "good enough right now", whatever that means. Evidently it means possibly winning just enough games to watch the top QB prospects drafted elsewhere.

We didn't beat the chargers they just kept shooting themselves in the foot.
