We have a QB right now, can we stop acting like he doesn't exist?

BTW, for the "He SuCkS" crowd, right now he's on pace for 4600 yards passing...gee lemme see where that would put him on the panthers all time list...OH YEA, #1, better than any passing season cam ever had and better than Steve Beuerlein.  I'm not saying for sure he's our future, but he's been far from bad enough for us to have this much talk about a new qb next season.

Kinda hard to claim best passing season and ignore passing TDs.  Teddy is on pace for 10.   Cam averaged about 22 in the air.  35 his best.

lmao we beat the shitty ass chargers (who picked ahead of us in the draft) and all the sudden all of our problems isn't so bad.

I'm not saying that at all, I'm just saying it's Way to early to presume Teddy is this massive bust and a terrible QB that we are incapable to succeed with and we HAVE to draft a qb first or the rebuild is worthless.

Do you think he is a franchise qb?

Yes he had the keys to Minnesota's franshise before the injury it was actually his Viking squad who were going to dethrone the legion of boom in the playoffs in 2015 before Cam and crew did on our way to the Super bowl.

Teddy led the Vikings on the game winning drive before their kicker missed a chip field-goal to end the game.

I completely agree with that, but thats why I'm saying its to early to presume he's awful and we will have to push for a QB in the offseason.  If he does continue his passing yards pace (roughly, and ends with around 4500 yards) and ends with 22-25 TD's, A)we might not be in prime position for Lawrence or fields who will presumably be #1 + 2, and B) we probably would be better served drafting other players to compliment Teddy and make our team better.

Keep in mind, folks like Matt Stafford have nearly logged 5000 yard passing seasons before and it earned them the #5 pick in the draft.

Our draft status IMO will be what it is largely because of the Panther defense.  Not Teddy.

I look at this way.

Before the season, i was the wait and see what Teddy does.  He is solid.

Unfortunately, this far, from what ive seen.  He isnt good enough to where you pass on the opportunity to take a Fields.

Look at the Chiefs.

Alex Smith was solid.  He had them in the playoffs, heck he was coming off a pro bowl when they drafted Mahomes. But reality was, he wasnt The guy you want.

Teddy is that Alex Smith.  Solid QB who can win you games.  But is more of a top tier backup.

Teddy was the QB I hoped we faced. He didn’t scare me like the Seahawks did. If we had of played them we would have blown the Vikings out.

I for one have been wanting to give him a real chance this season.  The lack of TDs has me worried

This.  Teddy, much like our playcalling, has been great between the 20's.  What separates QB's and teams overall is the ability to score TD's.

We had 3 turnovers and barely punted and still would have lost that game if the Chargers complete a simple lateral at the end.

It's not all on Teddy, but our redzone execution has been abysmal.  It's not unfixable, but it has to improve for anyone to objectively believe Teddy is going to be more than a placeholder.

I want to say this... it's way too early to make any definitive statement.  There was always going to be a learning curve with this team before even accounting for all the unique challenges this year has brought.

CMC (when he's back), Anderson, and Moore represent legitimate offensive firepower.  The potential is there.

And fair or not, the comparisons to Cam are going to be there.  The team can spin it how they want, but they chose Teddy over Cam.  Cam is looking like a borderline MVP, certainly his best since 2017.  Teddy is looking like a middle-of-the-road QB.  Certainly not bad, sometimes pretty good, but not elite.  Cam never had 3 guys on offense like CMC, Moore, and Anderson.  Hell, he doesn't have that in New England.

This offense has the potential every week to put up 30 points (we should have yesterday).  And we are going to need that most weeks to have a chance.

Teddy knows the deal.  QB's get more credit and more blame than anyone else.  He has the chance this year to stake his claim.

Before Cam, I think this fanbase would be content with Teddy's play.  It's not bad outside the redzone.

But we've seen what elite QB play is with Cam, even if injuries hampered him in 2018 & 2019.  Teddy ain't at that level.

What’s your definition of a franchise QB?

Do i think he’s elite? Hell no...

Does he have the IQ and skill set to help us win with the pieces around him? Absolutely.

If he's surrounded by all pros we might be able to get 9-10 wins. He would get eatin up by playoff defenses though.

I disagree with that, I think he's on Par with Jimmy Garrapolo and Kirk Cousins.  Both have decent pieces around them, but not swallowed by pro bowl talent and thats enough for them to be immensely successful.
