Chinn > Simmons

I’m sure Simmons will be fine, but the worry of him being a tweener/hybrid is coming true during these first 3 weeks. Not all players can play that role. Chin is though. Still very early. I’m sure Simmons will have 10 tackles and a pick six vs us though.

I'm sure he wont

Getting Brown and then still drafting Chinn was my best case scenario for the first 2 rounds. When we drafted YGM I figured that wasn't going to happen. I was so stoked when we traded up for him. He is everything I thought he would be and more. I knew he was athletic and fast but his football aptitude and toughness were pleasant surprises. As was the ability to pick up the defense so quickly.

He really does tackle different. There's just something extra when he brings a guy down. Brings back memories of Chris Harris and Mike Mitchell. When those guys tackled you, you knew you were in the NFL.

He has that something extra but it's also clear he isn't winding up to make a big tackle, it's fluid and natural.  A normal tackle from Chinn and the other player looks like he just got knocked big time.

I really like Simmons and I hope he excels but I just worry about him being compared to his draft position. I feel like he would be a great compliment to a defense that’s already stacked.

Also worth noting that ARI is REALLY talented on defense to the point of where Simmons can best make an impact as the nickel

Chinn came in and was expected to contribute right away all over the field (which he definitely has!)

They’re finally playing Reddick at OLB instead of ILB. He already has 2 sacks. Arizona declined his 5th year option.

I was hoping they’d continue to mis use him this season and we’d be able to get him on a nice team friendly deal. However, I’m thinking he may play his way out of our price range at his current pace

Chinn legit reminds me of a young TD, the tenacity and way he is always around the ball. Can't wait to continue to watch him grow and become better, he has a knack for being in the right place and with experience will be a disruptive force to deal with.
