Literally the ONLY team that would look to trade out would be Cincy. Even then, they’d most likely want you to get to 2 so they could still be guaranteed Sewell.

It wouldn’t even surprise me to see the Dolphins or Chargers take Lawrence if they landed in the top spot and then trade their newly drafted QB’s

Agreed. Cincinnati is the only team that I think would actually not take Lawrence if no one trades up. I think they’d have an easy trade out. If Tua doesn’t see the field this year they are definitely in the market. If Herbert continues to throw bad picks then they would be dumb not to upgrade.

Rookies throw bad picks. You know that. Herbert looks like a gamer! No way they're giving up on Herbert so soon!

Yep, and y'all want us to fug it up by not taking Lance.(•‿•)

Lance is a huge wildcard for me as a fan. I'm not gonna sit here and even pretend like I'm watching North Dakota State games to develop a true opinion on him. I'm not.

I can pat myself on the back on the '11 draft class QB situation. I was all in on Cam, primarily due to the newly instituted rookie wage scale. I would've been a lot more leery if it was back in the days where you were going to end up committing to that #1 overall pick immediately like he was a guaranteed future HOFer.  I thought both Cam and Locker were boom/bust prospects, but Cam had the far higher ceiling so I wanted Cam. I couldn't see a situation where either ended up just being okay, either their games would translate or they wouldn't. Cam's did, Locker's didn't. I thought Gabbert was a slam dunk bust. I couldn't see a situation where he ended up being a viable starting NFL QB. He wasn't

Honestly I don't have a clue if any of these QBs will pan out nor does anyone here and neither do the so called experts.  I've been watching the NFL since I was a kid and it's always luck that counts the most when drafting any player, especially a QB.   There's so much that goes into determining whether a player becomes a stud or a dud and most of it is with the payer himself.

Hurney has survived on pure luck his entire career.  If he's here come next draft you better hope he has some of that magic left.

I know you like to disagree but I did watch him play a few times last year and watched the KC game. I’ve seen him reigned in just throwing shorter passes and just look meh against good teams. He’s got tools, but I’m not a big fan. If they get to a place where they can pick Lawrence they easily could. I know you don’t like Lawrence, probably hate Clemson, but he’s a way superior prospect. Herbert to me is just not in the same ballpark. He reminds me of Rivers. Should do well enough to make some playoff appearances but the team will always be a level below contender.

There's always a "superior prospect" with you! You say things so matter-of-factly, like you have a crystal ball. It's easy to say someone sucks when they stink up the Combine or the Senior Bowl. But it's not so easy to judge how a QB will translate to the NFL, especially compared to others who have talent. Gimme a break, man!

Moreover, I never said I didn't like Lawrence. You conjured that figment of imagination up in your own dome. I've said that he is probably the safest QB pick in the draft, but the safest doesn't always mean the best.

Geez dude, relax a bit. Some of us like discussing draft prospects. Guess what it makes for a terrible discussion if we always have to say, just my opinion but there are no guarantees that he’ll translate or exceed expectations.

You are more than happy to promote Trey Lance but I’ve got the crystal ball when I’m touting a guy who’s the universal first pick? Lawrence is the safest pick and he’s got the highest ceiling IMHO and in most people’s opinions. I’m not saying anything revolutionary yet I’m somehow doing something wrong. Your opinion on Lance is valid, but it’s just your opinion. Pretty sure I never said a bad thing about Lance and said I’d be happy with him because all I want is a high upside QB. Scary when people can’t read other opinions and understand they are opinions. Feel free to reread my post and tell me where I said Herbert sucks as a fact. I have my opinion of where I think he’ll be based on actually observing him. I said the Chargers, if they finish with the top pick, could (OMG pulled out my crystal ball to say they could) take Lawrence even with Herbert. Have you even watched him outside of the game we just played and actually compared him to Lawrence. Saying Lawrence is a superior prospect is about as soft a statement as you can get. Outside of Herbert’s family and friends, you wouldn’t get a disagreement. Adios buddy, you aren’t always right and guess what neither am I. OMG, how could that be?
