You need to start wondering what you'd give up to get Lawrence

We are not a great team, but if the Falcons got Trevor,....oooh man, I wouldn't want to be around here!!

just like the chiefs right?

The Chiefs were already a perennial playoff team when they drafted Mahomes, and Andy Reid is one of the best offensive minds in
football.

Mahomes as great of a talent he is wouldn't be taking home MVP's and Super Bowls if he was drafted by the Jets, or the Browns.

Yes quarterback is the most important position in football but you need other pieces also, and the Panthers don't have the team built now to be giving away draft picks for 1 rookie Qb.

That’s four years dude. We had that with Cam here. Lol. I’m thinking people want more than four years of that.

So

If we got 4 years of that with our last #1 overall pick who was an excellent QB for us.

What makes this time different? Why is Lawrence different from Cam? When we look at other examples of other teams consistently winning with QBs that aren't #1 overall picks why is Lawrence the outlier?

Again my point isn't "Teddy is undoubtably our future" my point is "Lawrence isn't our only form of the future."

We have never had back to back winning seasons so we really didn't have that, it is funny because that tie did win us a 7-8-1 date with the Cardinals third string QB followed by a Cam to Kam TD pass.

I was thinking the Colts consistent success. Like 9 years of 10 wins or more. With T-Law, that’s that type of Draft pick.

And one super bowl to show for it what's your point.

I can point at other teams with constant success and not first overall picks at And (Saints, Packers, Chiefs now and with Alex Smith who was a FA despite being a first overall pick, Pats, Ravens, Steelers) and you keep coming back to Manning and the Colts.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
