How this turn into a Cam thread? Are we really gonna compare Cam situations with Teddy, almost every website ranked the pats as having the worst weapons in the league yet their offense this season is on pace to be way better.

Either way this was the most uninspiring Rivera type win ever, this offense is truly limited with Teddy

No, I'm basing my observations on watching him since Louisville, to Minny, to NY, and NO.  He has been the same guy throughout.  I attribute that passing distribution from Cam today to coaching.  They do what it takes to win.  Show me a passing chart of Teddy's that looks like Cam's from last week?  I am absolutely shocked if he attempts a pass 35+ yards in the air.  Anyone watching can see the difference.

You like Teddy.  That's cool.  As I've stated, I was a fan of Teddy's since college, but not enough of a fan that I wanted him to QB my team.  I just pulled for him to do well.  But, his brand of football is not very exciting or fun to watch, and again, the margin for error is extremely thin...  much thinner than it is for other QBs who actually attack downfield and play aggressively.

I pull for Teddy in that so as he goes the team goes, so no, I don't want him to fail.  And he seems like a good dude, always has, so again, I've always pulled for him individually for that reason. But, i don't want a conservative, checkdown artist with limited athleticism as my QB.  This is not what I wanted...  Cam should still be the QB here, is a better QB, and should have retired here.  Nothing will change my mind about that.

"throughout"?  This is Teddy Bridgewater's 3rd season of his career and he's 3 games in.  he had his rookie year, his sophomore year, and then injury.  then injury.  then injury.  then 5-0 w/Saints.   Give it to mid-season at least to hang the guy.  He's already extending the field and throwing deep like people in Carolina said he couldn't.  If he's still failing to close in the red zone by mid-season then we can label him.

A handful of balls that travel 30-40 yards in the air is Alex Smith-esque and exactly what folks expect from him; it certainly isn't 'throwing deep like people in Carolina said he couldn't.' Nothing in that post 'hung' Teddy, it was all based on what is on tape. It takes a lot to shed the label and play style of game manager, a style that isn't inherently bad but as mentioned provides little room for error (see last week for a recent example) and as a fan can be boring and frustrating to watch. Maybe things continue to open and maybe not but 5 field goals and 21 points with LA turning it over 3 times is straight out of the 1996 Panthers playbook and even if we had that type of defense again it's not gonna cut it in today's NFL landscape. Heck, it didn't quite cut it back then either.

With that all said I agree with that post 100% that Teddy is Carolina's guy and should be supported as such. Talking about reality though is not mutually-exclusive to supporting a player.

Not boring nor frustrating to me I love Qb's that complete 70% of their passes and continuously moves the chains. We have to execute better  when we get into the redzone of course and that starts with the blocking upfront and playcalling. What's important is that we can win with Teddy B . there's a reason why his record as a starter is 23-14

22-28 for 235 and a TD.

i get that you are butt hurt that we let Cam go.  But Teddy has won more in 3 games with the Panthers than Cam has won in the last 2 years

I mean that is just a factually incorrect statement.

You could say Teddy won more games this year than Cam won last year.  1 is greater than 0.

To be honest Cam was 0-9 in his last 9 starts for the Panthers so there's that.

yeah, I mean Teddy is a better QB than a hurt Cam.  No doubt.   Teddy does some things better than a healthy Cam.

Is this the thread to do Cam/TB comparison? Hint: other than one's rushing, he's losing to the other in almost every stat. That same one has a coach who is a "tad" better, a much better defense, and a comparable offense. And only one more win. So ... is this the thread?

That's fine, but that type of QB doesn't have what it takes to overcome mistakes elsewhere and their own mistakes are magnified. The Chiefs and Alex Smith are a perfect recent example, one that I watched firsthand here in KC.

With that said any team that wins requires a lot of talent, good-to-great coaching, and a healthy dose of health and luck. IMO and IME though when the QB talent level is lower the rest of the requirements are higher and that is just as hard, if not arguably harder, to do.

Teddy is learning to trust his receivers. Jake used to toss it up and let Smitty go get it. Who would Teddy have confidence in to throw it up and let his guy high point the ball and win it? Hopefully Moore after that big grab in the fourth quarter. Chemistry is being developed but it is slow. They are still installing pieces of the offense and defense. Rhule talked about installing more pressure schemes on defense and this was the first week without CMC. So the offense is a work in progress.

Watching Teddy play is painful, hopefully we don't have to watch it much longer.
