CMC says there is no need for a rebuilding year.

The reality is that we do have the talent to compete and win as CMC suggests. What we haven't had is the experience to perform consistently and error free so we don't torpedo our chances like we have 2 weeks in a row. Hopefully they gell and come together or it is going to be a long year.

What talent?  I see like 3-4 players that would start for other teams.  1 is out for a month.

Replacing what 70% of your roster and starting journeymen, rookies and 2nd year players is a definition of a rebuild.  Sorry if you dont see it that way but it is just the truth.  Losing a HOF TE, HOF linebacker, your starting MVP QB doesnt lead to a seamless transition of still being able to compete.

Oh and a completely new coaching staff top to bottom and a new system on both sides of the ball

I agree with all these points and appreciate you elucidating them given the direction the discussion has taken. I only took issue before because your previous sarcastic post neither addressed the point I had made nor the original post.

Then answer the question.  CMC, DJ, probably Moton and maybe Brown.  Those are the players that would probably start on the majority of other NFL teams.  Who am I missing?

Actually Brown wouldn't start yet unless I had no one better. But on offense starters include Moton, Okung, Bridgewater, CMC, Anderson, Moore, for sure and some others are marginal. But it isn't as if teams have superstars at all positions without their fair share of JAGs. And on defense there are guys who have started but aren't playing well. Scheme, chemistry or what??

But the constant negativity is annoying so I won't be going back and forth. It isn't as if you would change the latter anyway.

CMC, Anderson, DJ, Moton, Okung are the "majority" guys.

I think Shaq, Burns, Douglas, Bridgewater could start on a few teams, as well. Not including the rookies, that is too difficult a task to say what team a first year player could start on.

If you asked CMC how the panthers can plan to win with him on the sidelines he’d say something like his backup Davis is just as capable of taking on CMCs load and will do fine.

Great mindet and trust in the team.

In reality, it’s not close to the truth.

Tanking is a real thing, and it’s something a single player simply can’t control. It’s a team game. Whether they accept it or not is up to them.

You’re not going to be able to surround a febreeze air freshener with 50 piles of poo and not smell poo.

I hope that mentality is in the entire team. I think that it has to be close because we have overcome some significant odds to be as competitive as we have been.

The real challenge will be if we end up as a 0-2 win team around game 8, 9, etc. Can we still keep that morale up? I hope so.

I actually think so. This is a predominantly young team and a coach who seems to get these guys to fight.

This is pretty much exactly what Rivera said every week when we lost games. In short, CMC is parroting what Ron said over and over. We have to do better. We have to execute. We have to make plays. We have to work as a team. Yey CMC gets praised for saying the players can do more, while Ron was pooed on for saying it.

Maybe because it was Ron's JOB to over see play calling, make adjustments, prep the players, make roster moves.  He could do something tangible about it... or not...
