Rhule thinks Snow's strategy is "Belichickian"

The dude has been a NFL DC for two games. I want to see how he does next year when he has players and staff with more experience.

Unless next year shows zero improvement, I think this guy will get three years to prove himself.

The fact he’s 64 years old and this is his first stint as an NFL defensive coordinator should tell you something. But I wish the guy well. He’s not working with a ton of talent right now.

Agreed. I'm just basing my opinion that he probably won't work out on his previous work and lack of quality NFL experience. His only NFL experience was four years with the Lions as a LB coach when they went a combined 15-49 ultimately concluding with a 0-16 season.

Yeah it's definitely a huge risk. But to be honest so is Rhule and keeping Hurney. Tepper obviously doesn't shy away from the possibility of total implosion while asking fans to shell out $85 for a ticket.

Quite the term.

But he is right. Belichick is pretty darn creative with his schemes and changing them a great deal from week to week.

I remember Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan years ago said on NFL radio that going to the Patriots facility is unlike any other experience in the NFL.  If you visit a team or talk to the coaches and players for another team, you get a feel for what they are doing and who they are trying to be.  But with the Patriots, you can talk to them one week and if you go back 6 weeks later and talk to them it seems like an entirely different team because things have changed so much.  They also said that they go into games with multiple gameplans.  So they might have a first half gameplan, then actually pre-plan their halftime changes so while the other team is catching up to what happened in the first half, they've moved on to something different.

Well, I guess it's up for debate whether what he is doing has worked, sitting at 0-2. What I will say is that our defensive numbers have slightly improved and we are much more competitive through the first two games that we were defensively the LAST two games of 2019.

And he's doing this with far, far, far less talent than our 2019 team had on defense.

This is how teams are supposed to navigate every week but outside of the Patriots it seems every team just falls into “this is how we play and we stick to it” , rather than go after a teams weaknesses.

Week to week vs stuck in cruise control.

I was impressed with the second half performance by the defense. Nice to see they’re able to make adjustments

I think that is the most impressive aspect, is being able to make adjustments and see them work. That said, Bruce Arians is pretty easy to confuse. I am very curious to see how Snow adjusts against KC or NO. Those are two upper tier offensive minds with a lot of weapons to work with. If Snow can go toe-to-toe with those guys with this pile of rubble roster, count me on the Snow bandwagon.
