Jeremy Chinn getting attention.

Jeremy Chinn continues to get noticed by general NFL talking heads. Chinn flies to the ball more fluidly than I have ever seen any current Carolina Panthers player do. Very young Thomas Davis like.

I was watching him carefully in that game because he was jumping out at me how he moved. He injured Henry Ruggs and another Raiders receiver by diving and striking hard at their lower bodies, chopping them with his arms into their legs. He's fast, smooth, powerful, and has great leaping ability. Sort of like a literal Panther.

So is Derrick Brown, for being historically bad so far

I think at this point we really just need a sticky post on the main forum explaining what a DT does so people who have no idea what they’re talking about will relax. I swear half this board thinks he’s supposed to play like chase young

Well number 1 is don't commit stupid ass penalties. Number 2 is to help the pass rush and run game. I SEE JACK poo FOR SACKS, CAN'T STOP THE RUN, AND ANOTHER HURNEY BUST

We've used him the blitz the second most(5 times) on our team so far behind Juston Burris(6). He just needs to get a little better in coverage(allowed 6 completions on 9 targets) and clean up those missed tackles(leads team with 5).

I definitely believe he needs to clean up the tackling, but he was also in on so many more tackles that his missed tackles where a lot higher than the % of missed tackles other players were putting up.

It's almost like he's a run stuffer, and isn't going to get a lot of sacks.

You know, like how everyone said Star was over-rated for what he did because he wasn't a great pass rusher, and then he left and we end up with some of the worst rush defenses in franchise history.

DJ was a huge Chinn aficionado leading up to the draft and for good reason. Super stoked with the pick and think he is giving anyone with buyers remorse on Isaiah Simmons relief that we got an equally as talented/productive player.

I see a lot of folks comparing him to TD, which is fine.

I do prefer the Jamal Adams....Derwin James....Kam Chancellor mold, personally. That hybrid rover position is en vogue and think that he's just fine staying this size and not bulking up anymore.

No lie, he is drawing double teams the majority of his snaps.  He is doing what he is supposed to but his line mates are not producing.

I think those missed tackles and coverage issues will come with adjustments to NFL caliber players. College teams only have 1 or 2 offensive players capable of making an NFL squad if they're lucky. I think its just going to take a little bit to adjust to level of competition on every play.
