If the Panthers manage to win a game without Christian McCaffrey this season...

He allows us to compete. I'm curious to see how Brady adapts to his absence. Every defense facing us is coming in with the game plan of not allowing CMC to shred them. Everything else is a distant second.

Bingo.

There’s two ways CMC being out goes for this team.

1 - Defenses don’t have to stop CMC anymore, so the offense is dog sh*t without their superstar RB, team morale plummets, growth is stunted, and the Panthers get blown out in every game. Tank4Trevor shifts into high gear.

2 - Other players on the offense step up to pick up the slack (cough Curtis Samuel cough), the team manages to win a couple games, player and coach morale is sky high knowing this team can win without epic performances from CMC every game, and Christian returns to a better team than when he left. The future looks bright.

I am fully expecting to have moderate to minimal drop off in the running game without CMC. He was only averaging 3.8 ypc due to our atrocious interior OL, Davis has proved to be a good receiving option and we'll probably be playing from behind quite a bit, so I expect more passing production than rushing will be the norm.
