I'm very concerned that the team has yet to record a sack. I know the Raiders have a good offensive line and Brady has a tendency of getting the ball out of his hands quick. The LB and Safety play besides Chinn is as expected.  Shaq Thompson is more of a follower not a leader, he was comfortable taking the lead from TD and Luke. I never saw him as a guy to fill that hole once they left. Whitehead looks like a CFL player, too small to help out in the run game and poor in coverage. Boston and Burris are guys are good rotational players if they see 15-20 snaps a game, anymore they become a liability.

Burns? According to them he is the 17th best DE/EDGE in the NFL through two weeks. I'd say that is pretty good.

I said sophomore slump. He was drafted with high pick, invested in to apply pressure, QB hits and sacks and in a 4-3 that’s what he’ll need to do.

If he continues his trend to the end of the year, he will not come close to preforming what he did in his rookie season, injured none the less. One can only assume he’s regressing.

Lack of help/support and no preseason can be to blame but a player regressing like that is never pretty good IMO. So as I said I’ll chalk it up to a sophomore slump.

So..

Pff rates our defense accordingly:...

Dline:.. one of the best and worst DE's... Two more bottom tier ends and one average rotational guy. Also, what has to be the worst DT group in the league per average..save: Hamilton.

Linebackers: A bottom tier Lb ... a hybrid who is rated below said linebacker and the worst MLB in the NFL.

Corners: Our strongest unit... would never have guessed that this off season. Douglas was a hell of a pickup.

Safety: Not only the worst tandem but the actual worse two active safety's in the nfl.

I dont know how much stock to put into this... Dee Brown looks good to my eyes(yet he's the 2nd worse DT in the league) and Douglas and Burns look good to my eyes (as the grades reflect). But if Tepper is an anayltic guy at some point this has to fly across his table.

Me thinks.. Phil Snow may be the problem..and scapegoat. It's still too early in the season to form a valid opinion...other than the absolute fact that Whitehead needs to GO!!!

Would really like to see some Oline grades.

I think Burns is gonna gradually grow into a good player, not worried about him at all.

I'm wondering why more folks on this board aren't upset we took Brown if we needed a DT, when Kinlaw played right down the road in Columbia and looks like a prototype DT

Hindsight is 20/20 and judging anything after 2 games is incredibly stupid. Almost all the scouts and analysts said Brown was one of the top 3 or so players in the entire draft and we were lucky to get him. Dont give up on a guy after 2 games with no help around him

Nowhere in my statement did I give up on DB
