I think that the expectations for this team and especially this defense is completely unrealistic. Statistically we actually have a better defense this year than last year.

Not to mention that last year we had Luke, Bradberry, Addison, McCoy, Vernon Butler, Poe, Bruce Irvin and Eric Reid. Look at that list!! We replaced all of those players with young players! This is a learning and growing year. We need to see that there is growth. That is what we want to see. 

Growth that we need to see is from Burns, Chinn, Brown, Donte and Pride. We also need to see Shaq and Tre step it up.  

I love defensive pressure and hated when we were only rushing 3 but these quarterbacks that we faced have been getting the ball out in less than 3 seconds so what options did we have?

It's the haven't replaced them is the biggest part. 

2018: DJ Moore is the only Good player. DJax isn't even better than a journeyman. 

2019: Seriously Hurneys worst draft with not one player not a bust. We would have been better just trading away picks that year. 

2020: not looking great but early. 

 

I'm not sure how bad you have to be at your job to get fired but the bar is obviously low as hell in Carolina.

If Burns rushes from a stand up start you can call it a 3-3-5.

People are getting way caught up in labels right now.

Our biggest issue right now isn't scheme, its personnel, which any realistic fan could have seen coming before the season.

Its unrealistic to expect the vast majority of rookies to be better than average, or even average, their first year.  Also its unrealistic to expect the vets to be any better than they have shown in the past.

We do have a couple of vets that seem to be excelling. Douglas and Weatherly. Hopefully that lasts a full season.
