i don't disagree but the trouble is that he's in his prime now. running backs peak really early relative to other position groups. losing a ton of value by sitting him this season.

In the long run not using his value this year could be a blessing in disguise. He's so good, he could win us 3-4 games this year in an absolutely meaningless year.

oh for sure. it was more a commentary on the pitfalls of that giant deal we gave him than anything else. we should sit him because there's no upside to him playing. maximizing value now means kicking the can down the road and trying to keep him as healthy as possible through his expensive years.

That is what I would be doing.  I would knock the bottom out of that fine thing until training camp next season if I were him.
