CMC Injury Update: MRI Today

I hope this regime won't treat CMC like the previous front office did Cam. Sometimes you have to protect a player from himself. Sit him until he's 100% healed from any injury. An extra win or two is not more important than his career. RBs have a short shelf life anyway. Don't accelerate the process.

Yep. We're financially committed at this point. We're all in on Rhule's "process". That process has always entailed a complete teardown, near winless initial season, then building from the ground up. Everyone paying attention to Rhule's history and this roster knew why was coming this year. Don't even thing about playing CMC dinged up at any point this season. I'd say the same for all of our impact players.

If CMC plays again this season he had better be at 100% and the panthers should be at .500 or better.

Honestly, that's what concerns me most. Seems like these non-contact injuries oftentimes tend to be the worst ones.

His ankle whipped into DJ’s legs. You can really see it on the 360 view on the panthers website. I’m expecting it’s a mild bruise and we are just being super cautious/realizing the fact maybe we don’t need to overwork CMC this year.

NFL players don't limp off to not return due to mild bruises. Those happen damn near every play in a football game.

The players had their choice to opt out just as you do. They chose to play, there have not been any major covid outbreaks, no reason to cancel the season, get over it.

I'm amazed at how numb I am to this injury, like it doesn't even phase me. After Luke and Cam leaving this offseason combined with no real expectations at winning this year and Hurney still being employed here I just feel nothing. Maybe a little relief that CMC will get a breather in a training camp-esk year. 

It's going to be interesting watching Teddy shoulder the load if CMC misses any time. How will Brady adjust? When CMC left the game it was obvious that the D stopped respecting anything and just went all out to put pressure on Teddy. Good oppertunity for both of them both to step up.

True that, but the only thing that looked out of the “ordinary” on that run was when his ankle collided with DJ’s shin/ankle.

Watch it again. Just before he crosses the goal line there's clearly a hitch in his step. Something happened right there.

Ya I saw the ground level view now. The only thing it could seem was when he turned his waist upfield but it didn’t seem that his ankles/knees or anything slipped away from his body position and it didn’t seem the defender really got any of him. Huh.
