Then why give Teddy 20m to tank? Could've just let Allen be the Tank Commander and invested that money elsewhere/saved it

I wish I knew the answer to that.  I would have just kept Allen myself and let him and Grier battle it out.  I think we all know that Teddy B aint it.  He gives me serious Jimmy Clausen or David Carr vibes.

Just watched the final play, last night I was only watching a tracker and on the huddle, and people really wanted to make fun of Cam and trash him after that? First of all the play was obvious as all hell. Second, the Hawks blew up the oline. Third, he was jumping to try to avoid the defenders down low. The flip was just the result of him jumping. Bashing Cam for that final play after everything else he did in that game just only further shows your true colors like t96.

That t96 dude really had a field day on here.

He's such a hater.

We will be lucky if it is only 5 years.

There are so many poo teams in the NFL who have been looking for QB's for what seems like decades now and this fuging franchise just let a 31 year old former MVP walk because our new owner needs to have the biggest ego / balls in the Carolinas.

Yep.

People think drafting a new starting QB that can make an impact in this league is as easy as driving to the 7-11 to buy a Snickers.  Getting a damned effective starting QB is fugging HARD in the NFL.  Here are the 1st round QBs drafted and where they were selected since 2011 (Cam's draft year):

Quote

Cam Newton (#1) - Former MVP and still in the league, seemingly recovered from injury and again showing top form

Jake Locker (#8) - Out of the league

Blaine Gabbert (#10) - Active, short-time starter, career back-up

Christian Ponder (#12) - Out of the league

Andrew Luck (#1) - All-Pro, long-time effective starter, out of the league

Robert Griffin (#2) - Flash-in-the-pan effective starter early, out of the league for a bit, now a back-up

Ryan Tannehill (#8) - Long-time starter but you will find his picture next to the word JAG in a dictionary

Brandon Weeden (#22) - Out of the league

EJ Manuel (#16) - Out of the league

Blake Bortles (#3) - Long-time starter but utter JAG, looks to now be out of the league

Johnny Manziel (#22) - Out of the league

Teddy Bridgewater (#32) - lol

Jameis Winston (#1) - Long-time starter but utter JAG, now a back-up

Marcus Mariota (#2) - Long-time starter but utter JAG, now a back-up

Jared Goff (#1) - Consistent starter, 2 Pro Bowls, 1 Super Bowl

Carson Wentz (#2) - Consistent starter, Super Bowl champion watching from the sideline, performance trending down

Mitchell Trubisky (#2) - lol

Patrick Mahomes (#10) - League MVP, Super Bowl champion and MVP, best current starting QB in the league

Deshaun Watson (#12) - Two-time Pro Bowler and consistent starter, every bit worth the #12 pick

Baker Mayfield (#1) - lol

Sam Darnold (#3) - lol

Josh Allen (#7) - I wouldn't call this guy a JAG, but he's close... let's call him JAJAG (just above JAG)

Josh Rosen (#10) - lol

Lamar Jackson (#32) - gosh golly gee, I wonder how it could happen that League MVP Lamar Jackson got selected at #32 in that draft and perennial All-JAGs like Darnold and Rosen get selected #3 and #10?

Kyler Murray (#1) - Slightly above average returns this early in his career

Daniel Jones (#6) - Slightly above average returns as well

Dwayne Haskins (#15) - JAG so far but still young

Joe Burrow (#1) - Playing well in two starts as a rookie

Tua Tagovailoa (#5) - Sitting on the bench as a rookie

Justin Herbert (#6) - Isn't playing badly in two starts as a rookie

Jordan Love (#26) - Sitting on the bench as a rookie

EVERYBODY thinks they're going to get the next Patrick Mahomes to carry them to glory when selecting their QB in the 1st round, but what they are very very much more likely to get is a Blake Bortles that will inure them to long-time mediocrity.

We are pretty much there now.  We are in QB purgatory.

As far as the next Patrick, that trey lance guy I’ve been watching YouTube videos (I know) but that dude can fuging sling it. Flicks the ball 50 yards like it’s nothing. And he can run and move around the pocket. If that guy gets in the right system and has the right coaching he’s gonna be good.

Tepper just wanted power and to be part of the billionaire boys club with a shiny, new toy to show off to his friends.

I would disagree with you in one respect... Tepper *also* wanted an NFL team because (at least until Covid and we'll see how post-Covid league profits turn out) NFL teams are like legal money-printing machines.  And you know Tepper loves him some filthy lucre.

That list is a sight to see.

So many of those guys I have forgotten about because they flamed out so fast.

Hurney still being involved in any way in the Panthers franchise is what bothers me the most.....right up there with how they treated Cam at the end. Hurney was involved in that too.....

Remember when all the smart people were telling everybody else that OF COURSE Marty Hurney would be fired after the draft!  He was only being kept around for his scouting knowledge of the 2020 draft class!

ah yes kyle “baby goat” allen

I can't solely blame delusional Carolina fans specifically for that.  Hell, Allen at that time was getting a tongue bath from local and national sports media too.

Which just goes to show that the intelligence level of the local and national sports media is likely akin to the intelligence level of the troglodyte Carolina Panthers fan.
