The huge mistake we made right out of the gate with Cam was pairing him with a defensive minded coach. JR knew they were going QB #1 that year. I know his philosophy was always to go with defensive minded HCs, but when you draft a unique talent like Cam #1 overall, you gotta break with that tendency and go get an offensive minded guy. At least Ron went out and got a guy willing to be innovative in Chud, but then Chud left and Ron went full nepotism at OC for the remainder of his tenure.

Agreed!

I just thought that Ron Rivera was a horrible coach most of his career at Carolina, who Cam just made look good.

The irony is: Rivera always played to slow the game down, anytime the Panthers had a 14 pt lead or more, even in first or 2nd quarter. It's almost like he was afraid of putting points on the board. When you combine this with his horrible game; situational, and clock management, it always seemed to comeback to haunt Cam and the Panthers, mind you his reduced stats; wins and national perception. SMH

Good for Cam tonight. I only wished he had won, and the Patriots would have gone for a quick pass, and/or Edleman would have caught that TD throw earlier. But you can't win them all.

Go Cam!

W's are the only stat that matters..   TB is only one behind him in that aspect.

I agree but we’re talking about Cam individually who hasn’t looked right in some time, got time to actually heal and looks like his old self. People can be happy for him. He’s been through a lot.

Individually he did well, The Pats went too Shula with QB power pull, I honesty wish him well but I'm never going to root for Patriots W's with that kind of workload eeek Bellichek doesn't care if he runs him in the ground either.

That’s Cam’s game though. He’ll go out playing like that. He’s said so himself.

And that's why the Pats won't sign him long term.... and the Panthers didn't extend him (Cutting him and paying TB the same salary this season is still unjustifiable) if he makes it through the entire season how many more years does he have playing his style? two maybe? three max.

That’s the risk you take with Cam. I could see them offering a 3 year deal front loaded.
