This feels like a fair take. Feels like Tepper wanted to put his own stamp on his brand so he got rid of the face of the franchise and got a hotshot college coach to try and make some big splash.

How oddly egotistical can you be, to blow up a franchise and hope it works out.

If thats how it was sold, how many people would have agreed

you're right and it makes me angry.  I'm all in for Teddy and I hope he somehow improves and his game opens up.  I don't expect it, but I really don't want this team to be so bad we're drafting #1. Not this year, when so many other teams are going to be total shitshows too...

good thing is at least we can probably land Fields in the top 5.  Of course, that won't satisfy  some of the "lose for Lawrence at all costs" crew for a reason I just can't put my finger on

Lance over Feilds all day I get a PM AL vibe from him.

Figured Tep was an ass when he smacked his wife’s butt in a fuging new hire press conference for his HC. Dude’s a weirdo. Some of you lot thought it was epic or some weird poo.

I saw red flags before that, but that was completely crass and disgusting to me.  For all the crap Mixon gets, he is relatively harmless and well-meaning, and I want to say it was one of the first on-air interviews Tepper did after buying the franchise during the preseason that year, and after Mick completely hyped him up, Tepper came in and basically bullied him on air.  Tepper made fun of him, talked down to him, etc.  It just really never sat well with me.  Then grabbing his wife's ass at the presser was just further confirmation.  He just seems like a huge douche.

Never knew that.

Things are never “sold” this way. The owner just decides a direction and goes with it. He doesn’t have any checks and balances. He says let’s do this, and it happens.

Cam played well....he must like having an offensive line in front of him and not running for his life every play.

Something he wasn't going to get here this year. Had we kept him, he probably would've been obliberated by Tampa today and the media would've roasted us for keeping him.

Still don't get paying Teddy so much money, though.

So the fans don't have to align with poor decision.

This strange ride or die mentality wouldn't have worked with any other qb

Hurney still being involved in any way in the Panthers franchise is what bothers me the most

It's MASSIVELY concerning. Tepper is supposed to be this brilliant analyst. How in TF can he analyze anything about Hurney's career and come up with anything other than abject failure? Despite what has been said, I still have a feeling that he's basically just Rhule's rubber stamp and if it doesn't work out Hurney will be trotted out as a scapegoat at which point Rhule will be given a second life under a legit GM. I really feel like Tepper is THAT all in on Rhule. I think he'll be given every opportunity to work his process. If he's not the real deal, we're in for some very dark times I'm afraid.
