my guess is this person was not a fan since 2001 I mean who is going to admit they creepily follow one player around lol gotta try start off with some credibility on the pats forum

I'm still here actually. Not only are you wrong, you're delusional as well.

You probably wrote it for all we know to try to make it seem like it was a Cam fan.

The rich doctor hated Cam tho.

anyway. I don’t root for the patriots. I root for Cam. He’s fun to watch and he’s the best player this franchise has ever had at the most important position. I’m a panthers fan but I will watch him and hope he does well and gets a ring. It’s as simple as that.

some of y’all need to realize there were a bunch of fans rooting for this team BECAUSE of cam. That’s gone. Nobody gives a poo about this franchise. CMC doesn’t have star power even tho he’s a baller. The Carolinas have a weak fan base because we are mediocre. This is a mediocre franchise with horrible decision making.  Cam is a superstar and we ruined our chances with him. Our first and only superstar in franchise history. If cam balls out with the patriots some of y’all will just say it’s because of BB. But what you should be saying is we RUINED our chances with a crazy elite talent at the most important position in football because we had Ron fuging Rivera, Marty Hurney and DG with a racist, sexual predator as an owner. We deserve watching whatever success Cam has outside the Carolinas. He deserved better.

Well said.

Come on, man! I like Cam and I wish him the best (besides when playing the Panthers of course), but he wasn't the perfect QB, and more importantly wasn't the perfect QB for the new regime's system.

I understand the subtle (almost) hate for the way things have been done, especially as it pertains to Cam, but there's a new regime with new promise, and you must understand that there are going to be growing pains.

Jump the gun if you like, but I believe---as a matter of fact, I know that it's too early toake judgments about the team's new direction (and in most respects, that really has nothing to do with whether Cam succeeds or not, which I hope he does), regardless of how some will soon it.

Even amid our current issues which basically stems from everything being new---a rebuild---I am still very hopeful for the future. I suggest that you and everyone just turn the page!

(sarcastic voice) How is this Panthers related?

I thought all Cam threads belonged in the general football forum now? So which is it?

I also see that people are still gatekeeping fandom by how well you burn bridges with former players (specifically one player lately.)

I'm so glad Cam won and looked good/strong doing it. It pisses most here off, and the haters are gonna hate. I love it. You can't throw shade at the sun.

I'm also glad the Panthers looked better than I expected. You can have both feelings, you know.

People wanted to treat Peppers like absolute ass when he left. They when he came back they were suddenly fans again. People treat the greatest talent the Panthers ever had and GOAT WR Smitty like some sort of trash because WE CUT HIM, a couple decades old locker room incidents, and they don't like him on a personal level, and he went on to play for someone else (and beat our asses the chance he got.)

Y'all realize that the players (current AND FORMER) make up the identity of the Carolina Panthers, right?

It is outright hilarious that you've got people here that haven't been fans since day one questioning and casting stones at people who still like Cam Newton.

BTW if you think what you saw in week one resembles anything about how the Pats plan to use Cam, you don't know football or the Pats.

Even a lot of the "experts" are already questioning Bill's usage of Cam.

But wait and see... The Pats got what they wanted. Most are assuming they will feature a rushing QB, a short passing game, and reliance on their defense to control the game.

What will actually happen, though, is that they are going to start opening it up a bit on offense while teams start trying to key on QB1's options. The plan is already working perfectly, and everyone is taking the bait.

You’re off topic, nobody is saying we should not care about Cam or wish him well. We’re talking about so called fans jumping ship because of one player.
