I’d rather have a GM that is willing to fit his personnel around what the coaches are good at. Instead of asking two groups to do the unreasonable.

You'll virtually never catch me defending one Marty Hurney, but Burns, Haynes, and Miller were all added when Ron was talking up his new 3-4 D that never actually happened.

I get it but my point is Hurney could have made some moves to help Rhule out on this so he didn’t have to play weird sets. Or maybe he just does want to play weird college sets with snow.
 

We’ll have to see how a few more games play out.

He drafted Gross-Matos in the 2nd and signed Weatherly.

Weatherly wasn't at 100% and I can see him being part of the gameplan vs. Tampa.

And given Short's performance, may see more Roy.

Looking at the TB line, we could see more pressure.  Was bummed we didn't get sacks but were okay against the run.

The LB crew, Short, and inexperience on the DL showed.  We need a different type of vet than Short to groom these guys up.

There were quite a few of us calling for us to part ways with Short this off-season. The guy is just done and we should've gotten that dead cap out of the way.

They kept him around to be a good example for Derrick Brown. Might not work out the way they hoped.

I just don't think Haynes is ever going to amount to anything.

Burns? Jury's still out, but I'd agree that as is, he may not be the best fit in our system.

That's not necessarily his fault as he was drafted to be part of a defense we're not running anymore.

We need some veteran talent on that Dline outside of KK.

Not really a positive attribute as much as a necessity in the modern NFL, TBH.
