You thinking playoffs?

I'm thinking we're 0-1 and the future is an unknown. I'm a fan of this team, and I cheer for them to win on Sundays. That's how I define my fandom. You may "fan" however you wish.

If I'm objective as I can be, I don't expect this team to make the playoffs, no. But I also don't expect that drafting *any* player will guarantee that we are better in the long run. I live now. Now we are 0-1. Who knows what we'll be as the season progresses. Whatever happens I'll be cheering for wins and for improvement from week to week. I will not be cheering for losses in the hopes of getting some what-if player.

I heard Lawrence will pull a Luck and return his senior season to piss us off.

He just (this weekend’s game) said this is his last year and he graduates in December.

Heck he just got engaged a couple months ago. So whatever you “heard” was made up or was just a rumor from someone who doesn’t know.

Me explaining to the huddle reasons for picking Sewell over Lawrence

I get the reason for wanting Sewell but the QB crop this year is too good.
Lawrence, Lance and Fields have star potential. We can build the O-Line over the next few drafts. We will probably get another high draft pick in 2022.

If I drafted one of those qb’s this year, I’d be really tempted to sit him for a year to adjust to the pro game and more importantly build the line he’ll play behind. Maybe give him spot duty later in the year, but don’t rush him out there.

Thats the issue, not playing him that year hurts the case for drafting a QB. You're one year closer to the 500million(if youre that lucky) or one year closer to drafting another one. @Jon Snow mentioned the browns and Joe Thomas never helped them reaching the playoffs. Browns where the worst run franchise during that era, they spend about 5 early draft picks(if I member right) on QBs. Id gladly take Thomas over those QBs drafted.

Once you list QBs and LTs, plus factor in age, skills, talent, and volume. Its clear right now and for the last couple years, its harder to find a good LT. Look at free agency this past year, plenty of options at QBs (Cam, Teddy, Phil, Winston etc) nothing at LT. If a team gets a Walter Jones, no chance he hits the open market. College and NFL have offensives that are QB friendly now, its the opposite for OLmen. Im dying alone on the "draft Sewell" hill.
