I get it, we lost.  But we just put up one hell of an effort in game 1 with no preseason, first year HC, 8 new defensive starters, 4 rookies starting, a new QB, etc.  defense got better as the game went on.  Chinn was a beast all day, and Pride looked really good (the one TD he gave up would have been a TD Against 99% of CBs). We looked much better against the run, especially in the second half, against one hell of an OL and RB.

Teddy played a great game.  Our OL was solid.  Rhule made some good in game adjustments.  Wasn’t thrilled with the 4th down call but Armah gave a pretty pathetic effort.

The future is bright folks.

But seriously, people forget all of the variables that have affected this team over the past year.

Anyone thinking we would come out looking like world-beaters are delusional.

I think we all know what the expectation was.  All things considered it could have been worse.  We were down 15 with a young inexperienced team and clawed our way back.

Teddy had a decent game, not a great one.  With the time he had, more than I expected, I honestly thought he'd be better. But, I agree that there alot to be happy about.

Just keep in mind that we played a team that was built very similarly to the Panthers. Veteran QB with a good RB and WRs, and a questionable young defense.

I get it’s fun to see the new team and they showed fight and played well. But that Raiders team is NOT good and there are a lot more lumps to take.

Yep today was good.

Teddy proved he can lead this team. He looked really good minus 2 throws and didn’t make any mistakes that hurt us.

Chinn was everything you could’ve hoped for plus some. Simmons got absolutely roasted for a long TD already today FYI to whichever one of you scrubs made the Brown thread.

Matt Rhule’s guys played well. Guys like Short and Samuel need to go as soon as their contracts allow them to. Obada brought some nice energy and made a couple plays. Was nice to see.

All of us knew this was going to happen with the defense so now that it finally happened everyone is freaking out?

Today we saw the potential of a YOUNG roster. That is what this season is ALL about. It’s a good thing the majority of this board is made up of fat basement dwellers living with their parents and not a true representation of the fan base. The threads on the main forum given what happened today are embarrassing.

Finally some positivity! We are only going to get better as the season progresses. Our young players will develop, our offense will develop chemistry, our coaches and staff will learn and grow with experience. I’m glad we have some young and talented players and excited to see what comes of the season!
