Official Raiders at Panthers Gameday thread!

Yes we need work on both sides of the ball.

ST: I was content overall throughout the game and like Cooper on returns.

Offense: Competent and mostly consistent. Teddy B need better ball placement to have a more catchable ball at times. Offensive Line needs to get better at run blocking to create running lanes. We need a TE.

Defense: Run defense is terrible. There were to many open running lanes and missed tackles.

Whitehead did not play well and Shaq wasn't far behind him.

To come out this year with no OTA's, Training Camp or Pre-season, with a almost complete overhaul and put up 30....we can only get better!

I agree, although I actually saw a few positive things out there today.  The defensive line did a decent job at times clogging up the middle.  Most of the bigger runs were around the end.  I thought Douglas was ok, and might have had the play of the game had the other guy not screwed it up with the PI.  Chinn looks fairly solid.

The pass rush was weak, but so far, most of the games I have seen have had little to no pass rush. Defenses appear to be behind the offenses at this point, except for the Patriots.

Washington's D line was on fire apparently. Our o line was better than I expected. Whitehead was just plain bad. Pride was not bad to be a 4th round rookie with no preseason.

So?  Running is what gets him hurt.   A QB scoring TDs is not what you want.

if you want to make the argument that CMC gets those TDs if Cam is here, or that Cam reduces CMCs Tds blah blah, fine, but there's nothing wrong with crediting Cam for his TDs.

also I am much more worried about Cam being injured on scrambles or due to a shitty OL than I am when he's running.

And for you Cam nut huggers who want to compare his win to Bridgewater's loss:

Cam:  155 yards, 0 TDs 0 Ints.  75 yards rushing (average 5.0)

TB:  270 yards  1TD, 0 Ints  26 yards rushing (average 6.5)

You have no argument, so shut up.

Intentionally getting Cam's stats wrong through your tears.

LOL

I don't blame Brady for not calling CMC on the 4th down play, everybody you'd think would be watching for him.  I would have curled Teddy out on a boot and maybe a short pass from there. Lucky they were that close.

Before the game, 80% of the complainers would have said we would have lost by 20.  Not a very knowledgeable football base to be complaining so hard

I agree. I think that you put the ball in Teddy's hands.  Or at least, not in Armah.  Uggh.

I also am not upset by the game, just frustrated by that last call.

you can't by any reasonable measure exclude Cam's rushing TDs.  he is a true threat in every since of the word.

but he also had a tremendous defensive effort / was playing against FitzMagic today.

I know these two will be linked but we can be happy for both of them.

Sure--he ran for 2 scores---and threw for 37 yards per quarter.   Yippee?

you are the one that dragged another team's QB into this thread, got his stats wrong, and tried to argue some nonsense about QB TDs not counting.  go make a thread about Cam if you need to compare him to Teddy so bad where we can have a better discussion.  I am rooting for both players and think flawed comparisons in a gameday thread does nobody any favors.

A fake FB dive, pitch to CMC would've been the best call IMO. That or a QB bootleg option. If we had a big QB, QB dive probably would've been option 1b. There were iffy calls on offense, but overall I was content. On defense, I think Douglas will end up taking Jackson's starting spot eventually. The dline is also a huge concern. I didn't like the defensive play calling and I'm not too optimistic about Snow; didn't like going to a 3 man front on 3rd and 1 yard. Overall, the game went pretty much what I expected. I am really happy about most of the free agent pickups.

On a side note, I think I like lurking a lot more on gameday threads and paying more attention to the game than actually participating in real time like I have for the past 15 plus years. I need to cut back on things that bring negativity in my life right now. Taking unnecessary pot shots with no context whatsoever at a guy that literally gave his body to this team for nearly a decade is something I can't tolerate and I do not wish to participate in this Teddy vs Cam talk. It's stayed in the gameday thread despite being warned not to continue it. It is not Teddy's fault for the way the situation played out and dismissing all Cam has done for the team is asinine.
