The Chiefs in a closer than expected game.

I am undecided on drinking plans. I have a 2-3 day slog of heavy drinking ahead of me, so I might abstain this evening to give my liver a break.

As to the topic, I think pretty much everybody will predict the Chiefs winning, and I'll probably have a glass of water or two during the game.

I'd like to see him go into MMA or boxing so I could watch someone give him the ass whipping he so thoroughly deserved on the football field.

I think people might be surprised. Texans were up 20+ points on the Chiefs last time they played and there will not be any crowd noise in Arrowhead (one of the loudest stadiums in the league).

I think this will look a lot like a preseason game, and the Texans will surprise the first half and fall flat the second to lose by a margin larger than the final score. Mostly water to drink, trying to work off the quarantine weight.

That's one thing I do feel fairly sure of, that it's gonna be sloppy as hell.

Granted, but Fuller is (at least at this very moment) healthy. Hop was fantastic, but they still have some good receivers. Cooks (if healthy), Stills, and Cobb. Watson is what makes that offense click.

It still doesn't feel real. Everything being propped up to give us a sense of normalcy has this patina of artificiality. Like trying to get hyped for Christmas once you're past your childhood.

That said, there's presents under the tree. And I'm excited because they're what I need, and I know because I bought them for myself and wrapped them up and tried to forget what they were.

So I'm going to crack a pumpkin beer - because current events don't change the fact that it's harvest season - and dammit, I'm gonna act like I'm surprised when I rip open these presents, and maybe if I pretend hard enough, I can recapture some of that magic.
