We've spent a lot of draft picks on corners and they simply all busted. We aren't good at drafting them, Norman was the first in a while to pan out and he was a fifth round late bloomer. I think we've scrapped the big slow draft model for fast and athletic, results to be determined.

Also, people are being dishonest about the Shaq stuff. If we would've lost both he and Luke in the same off-season folks would be second guessing that just as much as they second guess paying him. As evidence by the way they suddenly remember Bradbury as being way better than he actually was.

And what rounds did we draft those guys in?

Simply put I don’t think out front office puts as much value in the secondary as other parts of the defense, historically speaking.

That has changed at least a little bit. We've actually drafted safeties now. Outside LT, that might be an even more neglected position than CB, historically.

Losing Bradberry will end up being worse than losing Josh Norman.

Honestly, worse than that would be tough to pull off. That 2016 secondary was one of if not the worst NFL secondary I've ever seen and that move forced Gettleman to spam half a draft class of picks at the position only one of whom is still on the roster and that's only because we're still awful at the position group.

We can only hope. We need nothing to do with knee jerk Hurney desperation loves right now.

I don't know if it's just your perceived state of the team right now or what, but you've certainly become a tad more negative ever since you've become a moderator. You're like the understated sheep herder of Huddle Negative Nancys.

Give it time, you'll come over to the dark side eventually.  I will give it 3 games before all the faithful break ranks and start blasting the same players they have overhyped all off-season.  You've been here long enough to have seen this play out before.

Being optimistic about the future while being realistic about the present is evidently being the "sheep herder of Huddle Negative Nancys".

It takes some very homer colored glasses to look at this current organization and find many wins this season, but there's things to be excited about for the future. Watch this season for those things. If you're expecting wins it's not gonna be an enjoyable experience.
