Las Vegas Raiders at Carolina Panthers - What do you know?

Well, we know Gruden.  We have gone up against that brain and his plans many times.  Can’t really come to the NFCS and pimp Gruden like that.

and we will see I guess.  Best bet?  We both tune in and see the Raiders.  They tend to be one of the things you can rely on.  Doesn’t look like a top 16 talented team from this perspective.   Still the same tier as you have been IMO.  I do like the WR from the draft.  Hopefully that Raider WR curse doesn’t get him like it has so many.

I’d say you are close to being a push offensively with a team like Carolina.  Better D talent.  Coaching simply is an unknown as we can’t even guess how that plays out.

Why Carolina wins? The Raiders are traveling east coast week 1 in the year of COVID...to face a team that has game planned for them.  Once the game settles in after opening series? Carolina will at least know what the Raiders are doing on both sides in large part.   Raiders won’t be able to say the same.

But I am a huge fan of Hunter Renfrow.  Love that little dude.  Just not this Sunday.

One problem do you know what time the Raiders been practicing every day.    They have to do it very early in the morning before it get to 100 plus degrees in Vegas.    That early time might have been a problem before hand , but I don’t think that will be the case this year.

Okay, they are still traveling cross country in the year of COVID week 1.   Still a disadvantage no matter what time they practice.

And and i said, the Panthers have a clear cut edge they will own early.   They have a gameplan and know what Gruden and the Raiders will do on both sides of the ball.  Raiders can’t gameplan for Carolina in large part on either side of the ball.

Carolina isn’t gonna win a lot of games.   But they are gonna win some.  This one sets up well.

Do you know exactly who the Raiders Were starting at tackle those years. ( want to throw deep Qb must have time). Two A Cooper was the only speed threat the Raiders had .( teams were double teaming him.  Three A Cooper had a lot of drops that M Crabtree was his  go to Wr.( Reliable pass catcher)    .   See A Cooper rookie year and Carr and Cooper connected on a lot of deep passes.( YouTube Amari Cooper rookie year)

This has nothing to do with drops or tackle play, this is Derek Carr being tentative and is the reason nobody outside of Oakland seems him as a legit franchise QB

The team is in Vegas now, and most of us don't think he's a legit franchise QB either.

He does play well for a few games per year, and this will probably be one of them because it really feels like a must win game out of the gate. The Raiders get their bye in week 6, of the 5 opponents before the bye, the Panthers are the only team who wasn't in the playoffs last season.  A loss in week one, puts the Raiders in serious jeopardy of going winless before the bye.

I feel Carr is aware of all this and will play well Sunday.

This is pretty much a must win game for both teams. The team that looses will have a reaaaaaaaally long season.

I think the Raiders will dominate in the trenches on both sides of the ball ( as bad Raiders D is, they are good against the run ) and that will lead to a tight win. 24-21 Raiders.

Wish you guys a good season and I'm just glad football is back.

I respectful disagree as this isn’t a normal NFL season. Who knows what these big names team are going to look Like . For example no Tom Brady , and they had 7 players Opt out of the season.      New Orleans Saints at home are a different team than on the road.

Jmo No first game of the season is a must win game for anyone.

Must win games aren't typically real until the full playoff picture emerges. You can have those tone setting wins/losses early in a season that set the stage for disaster or success.

probably not a must win.  But both Carolina and the Raiders both really need a win week 1.

Raiders lose week 1.  My money would be on a 0-5 start for them.  Maybe 1-4 if you lose to open.  Saints. @ NE. Bills. @ KC. Bucs.  Next 4 are rough.

Wow, a lot of people mistakenly saying a sloppy game favors the all rookie coaching staff. No one outside of this fanbase would tell you that. The raiders were a better team than us last year, improved this offseason, and outside of getting KK back healthy the panthers didn’t. I would be extremely surpised if Carr, or any qb really, didn’t throw for 300+ yards on us. Luckily our qb is a well known duelist, always winning those high scoring shootouts - oh wait
