My guess is that letting Robinson go may not have been talent related.  He left WVU under off field circumstances and played well in the XFL.  I remember when the draft class was announced, one of his comments to the other players was ...now we get paid.  Rhule wants players who love football and get paid as a result of their efforts, not players who love money and play football to get it. Team building makes examples of certain players and he may be one.

Very possible. I am pretty sure Rhule has been on record with wanting hard working guys who want it. I suspect that is why we saw Scarlett get jettisoned so early.

It's definitely possible. I was hoping that playing well in the XFL then being passed over until the 5th round might light a fire under him. Oh well. I can't complain since I liked the pick.

Are we backtracking and saying this was Hurney’s draft after all? All I heard after the draft and even as recent as this past week was how this was clearly Rhule’s draft...but I guess since our 5th rounder was cut, it’s Hurney’s draft now lol. Oh wait wait I think I got it...rounds 1-4, 6, and 7 were Rhule, and round 5 was Hurney? Just wanna make sure I got my facts straight! I know this is a very fluid process.

“Making the roster” lol, what a useless metric. I guess all those terrible players Hurney drafted and held onto for longer than he should have, actually were pretty good cause they continuously made our roster year after year.

He was just tryna throw a jab at me don’t mind him lol

Not a jab, just staying facts. Some people don't like facts when they get in the way of their opinions.

*that's a jab at MA for what it's worth

Lol It’s okay poopie i actually agree with you . It’s just 5th rd or later talent over the past drafts haven’t lived up to what I’m use to seeing out of them . Esp coming from those sorry talent evaluating team .

Awww good job with your stats buddy, now all you need to do is actually learn how to interpret them and you’ll become a top notch internet debater in no time!

When Rhule was talking about this team and the upcoming draft-"We need to get this right and hit on all draft picks". Echoing what @kungfoodude was stating early, this team has a talent void and its not like past panther teams. It is funny with Smarty Marty missing on 3rds and 5ths, cause those rounds are where teams reach, get cute, and think they have insider information. I hope Roninson makes it to the PS and it saves the panthers some string.

You realize you're basically trying to make the argument that it might be just as good of a sign for a draft pick to get cut that it is for them to actually make the roster, right?

I mean, that's completely par for the course for you, but just wanted to point out that's what you're doing here. All because you got butthurt that I posted mathematically accurate information for another poster. You're really one upping yourself in this one.

I actually made zero arguments whatsoever...I’m just making fun of your argument that the longer you hold onto a draft pick, the better the draft pick. You should google something called the Sunk Cost Fallacy since you seem confused as to why that’s a dumb argument.

Confirmed. You think a draft pick getting cut is just as good as a draft pick making the roster. The first step to becoming a good draft pick is actually making the roster. This isn't difficult stuff. Kinda like how the first step to acting like you're smarter than someone else is not being a dumbass but you sure stumble out of those starting blocks just about every time.
