Cam Jordan is a probowler and is better than the average DE. No doubt Clowney hasn't lived up to the hype as of yet. When you consider he's the only player in the history of football who was the #1 recruit coming out of high school AND college, it was always going to be hard (and statistically unlikely) to also be one of the best ever at the NFL level. A lot of things have to go right for that to come to fruition. However, going back to your original statement - he's the kind of guy you "want" signing with a divisional rival (and therefore lining up against our OL twice a year) - that, sir, is idiotic.  And lets wait and see until his career is over before we can make a accurate judgment.

Yes, I want overpaid underachievers to sign with division rivals. Take off your homer hat and understand why that is.

Reading this makes me feel that you haven't even followed Clowney's career.  "He can't possibly live up to the hype" is a far cry from expecting a guy making over $10M a year at the DE position to have more than 3 sacks...and getting a chuckle out of a team possibly overpaying for that lack of production.
