My take on the upcoming season

It's gonna have a lot of positive points, so if your'e looking for negative or want to post some negatives, move on to the next post...

1. We are probably not going to the playoffs and if we did, we wouldn't go far. But in saying that, I really feel we will be very competitive this year. We'll lose some games for being inexperienced or stupid plays, but we will win some because of our determination and constant drive to compete under Coach Rhule.  Games will be exciting, even the "downs" and watch them try to climb back from a mistake or digging themselves a hole. That is the #1 thing any football fan would want to see, is there team fighting hard the same way if losing 21-0 or up 21-0. It's fun to watch and root for them when it's like that.

2. The division is under so much pressure and none of it is on us (for a change). It will be very hard for TB to not crack a little under the pressure of having Tom Brady and company and not going 13-3. Every loss the pressure will mount, especially if in the beginning. The Saints, same thing. They are all in this year and any losses will start to unravel this team. The Falcons are just hanging on for their last ride before a complete overhaul. By next year or at least 2022, when we start really hitting our stride, they should be in rebuild mode or possibly cap hell. The future looks bright.

3. CMC is emerging as a leader. Mostly by example of how to prepare and play and take care of yourself to be ready to play, but he's also speaking up. After Rhule talked to the offense Friday during what he called a disappointing effort, CMC talked with the  starting offense. Nobody can question him because he checks all the boxes. He's not a yeller or theatrical person, just real as the players just have to look at what he is doing. He's leading by example. That is huge. Add in that everyone likes Teddy and he's just being himself and not trying to replace Cam, knows the offense and is taking a leadership role by being the glue that brings the players together is awesome. With guys like Tre on the defense that is so young to put that "dog fight" into everyones spirit is just what this defense needs... attitude.

I see a fun season no matter the record and I feel the future is very bright. Not 3 years away but as soon as next year we could be competing for the division.  We just need Panther fans to root hard, stay loyal and keep showing support and you will be rewarded in the near future.

huh?

The division is loaded with old qbs going for one last hurah. Theres a pandemic that could possibly put an end to a complete season . In a few years we are tge team with a new core coming out of the rebuild after 3 franchise qbs retire.

Its a giant offseason and preseason

Zero pressure or expectations

Seems obvious

He can't understand any post without "Tank" or  "Trevor" in it

Really good point here. Panthers can just have fun this season.

Yep. All the other teams in our division are old. We will be on the come up just about the time all the other teams in our division are looking to replace their ancient QBs and all their high priced, older stars. We have an opportunity to cement ourselves as a powerhouse in the division for years to come. This year builds the foundation.

If only it were that simple. If only sports were a game of timing and opportunity (like a stock) rather than a gathering of real humans that have all kinds of issues and can be up like superman one week, and down like a thot from the club the next week.

They have older QB's on their way out, but if anyone believes that means we have some open window to domintate for a season or two until they re-up their QB situation is smoking that bullshit. Lest we forget most agree TB is a gap and not a solution.

So other than CMC, how again are we better off or positioned?

You’re not wrong but he’s why people are optimistic. Right now, the other three teams in our division are guaranteed to be better because their QBs (among other positions) have great track records. When those QBs are gone, so are the guarantees. Who’s to say they won’t have a few busted draft picks while we have some good ones? Plus, while they are trying to find their next QB we have the best running back in the league to build off of.

I like that their are no expectations on us this year. My ideal scenario is we are a very competitive team that narrowly loses a bunch of games and ends the season strong (like the Dolphins did last year) but we still end up in a position to take Fields or Lance, or if a man can dream Lawrence

    • I don't think Rodgers but probably not for the political reasons I bet a lot of posters are motivated by. I just think he is not the QB for the Panthers, at all.
    • Sun Devils just scored another TD on BYU, 14-0
    • It wasn't great but  the 2022 NYG won 9 of 16 games plus a playoff game. He had a 92.5 passer rating. 15 pass TDs 3200 yards, 7 rushing TD, 700 yards 6 fumbles 3 lost.  His first season he had 18 fumbles lost 11. Wow.  Anyhow he had problems in 2023 with injuries and didn't win poo before tearing his ACL. This year, no Barkley, not good, but you know.... these ACLs take a while and it was right and he throws right so pushes off of it.  I agree it doesn't hurt to let that guy compete cheap. You don't hand him the job like with Bryce or NYG with him.  When I look at what we have been saddled with, he doesn't look worse and has the physical advantage. So I don't get the umbrage given our situation. This "No we won't settle for anything less that the best" attitude and then taking Bryce Young was pathetic and I think that attitude brought us to where we are. That's where that poo gets you. Away from Mayfield, away from Darnold, even away from PJ - just to replace them with an inferior PJ.  At the same time I am not really advocating for the guy just looking at it objectively. It could be another guy with the same story. And yes the odds of him getting it are low but the numbers and performance from 2022 are for sure better than we see with Bryce even after a season of major propping him up with better players around him. Take a look don't take a look he fails or he doesn't fail...   to instead sit here and be happier with what we have is bullshit.
