He could be one of those guys that some team thinks "well, maybe we can get something out of him".

• The Buffalo Bills are releasing linebacker Andre Smith, Rapoport reported. Smith, most notably a special teamer, was acquired via trade with the Panthers previously.
• The Indianapolis Colts are cutting tight end Andrew Vollert with the hopes of Vollert clearing waivers and being able to return to the practice squad. Though he appeared in just this season's initial episode, Vollert has drawn notoriety from Hard Knocks when he was memorably cut by the Chargers.

He was a half decent tight end at one point but I don't know that he's all that good these days.

Jags cut both their backup QBs (Mike Glennon and Josh Dobbs). Somebody remind me, who was it that gave Glennon a big payday not that long ago? Was it the Bears?

I bet we get nothing for Smith now. These types of trades often involve a conditional pick requiring the player to make the roster. Oh well. We were almost certainly planning to cut him anyway.

Yup, the Bears.  I believe it was the same off-season when they drafted Trubisky...

Yeah. Kinda figure a week on the training camp roster isn't going to meet the conditions.

Both Douglas and Jones cut without a trade.  Speculation is the Jets will be interested as Joe Douglas, now with the Jets FO, drafted them.
