Conditional pick three years from now, actually.

And to answer your question, they don't. Players traded for low round conditional picks frequently don't meet whatever "condition" was set, so it's quite possible the Bills will ultimately get him for nothing (assuming they even keep him).

It's also likely true that the Panthers don't care if they do. As often as not, these kinds of trades are really just two friendly teams trading favors.

Hurney did something similar when he traded with the Packers for fan favorite JJ Jansen back on '09 one of Marty's better moves.

No, a conditional 2023 7th rounder. I can honestly say that in the NFL, I’ve never seen a pick 3 drafts away (NBA routinely trades future years) and still it’s a conditional 7th. That’s got to be the lowest draft pick value ever traded. There’s probably a clause in there that if you forget to ask for it the day of that draft you lose it.
