Sad. Great young actor.

I wonder what will happen to the BP franchise?

I hope they do 2 IF they do two like they did for Heath but the story doesn’t really lend itself to a bunch of actors paying tribute.

At this point I’m really wondering if they filmed a secret alternate ending to endgame in the event this happened or if disney even knew.

Hopefully they will find someone to fill those shoes. Perhaps one of the male actors on this list:

Or some as yet unknown talent waiting to be discovered.  Either way there is clearly demand for more BP films and overall Marvel did a great job with it, so the hope is they could continue the success with another talent. Won't be the same but can still be great. As they say in showbiz "The show must go on."

From that list...Donald Glover, Micheal B. Jordan (Yeah I know he was Killmonger but he fits the bill oddly enough.), Aldis Hodge.

Who knows, maybe they will go with a total unknown person.

This really came out of nowhere.  I remember an Instagram video from earlier this year where he looked very thin, but people thought it was likely for a role.  An example of when a person who exemplifies who we should all aspire to be is taken too soon.  RIP.  I think he got married recently as well.  Just terrible all around.

They knew. Because of the monetary resources involved etc., studios routinely require thorough medical checkups, blood tests etc of principal actors, director and producer prior to final green lighting. You can't have cancer and have a primary role in a major motion picture and the studio not know about it.

My heart broke when I saw the news on Twitter. This is just unbelievable :crying:.

Chadwick Boseman is a legend and made all of those legendary films while battling cancer. I'm honored that he was from my home state of SC.

Rest in Power!

I was shocked by the news of his death and inspired by the news of his life.

John David Washington is a serious acting talent with a serious acting pedigree. He has amazing in BlacKkKlansman, he's the reason I'm about to risk coronavirus to go see a movie in the theater this week. Selfishly, I really want to see him helm a major Marvel franchise.

Second preferenc, you could have M'baku rise to the mantle of Black Panther. He already challenged for the throne before. He could do it again.

Found out from Milady that a coworker of hers from the Anderson area told her she's acquainted with the family.

According to her, Boseman kept his cancer treatments a secret from nearly everyone, including his family, so as not to be a burden to anybody. Apparently they lost another family member to cancer a few years ago. He didn't want them going through the trauma again, even if it meant foregoing any support they could have offered while he went through it all.

Third hand info so I can't speak to the reliability of it, but it's quite a story if true.

they've probably known about this possibility for a few years.

there's a lot of options within the actual canon of the story. Also they're comic books. They can just say that Michael B Anderson was brought back to life too and he's learned the error of his ways.

My hope is they let Shuri (Letitia Wright) take on the mantle of Black Panther. She was such a great character in the first Black Panther and appeared with T'Challa during his return at the Battle for Earth in Avengers: Endgame.

That I’d actually really be down with. Would be much better than recasting at this point.

    • It amuses me how Goff's name the last few years is often used to compare to subpar or underperforming QB's. Now on the surface I get it. But when you look at his numbers he's been the same QB all along. He's improved his completion % but even with the Rams he averaged 63.4. And that Super Bowl he played in they should have won honestly. If we can get a QB as good as Goff I'll be pretty damn pleased.
    • And it remains to be seen if Goff has that ability or not. Plenty of very good QB's like Goff were not able to get over those playoff humps. Matt Ryan, Kirk Cousins, etc. You can still be an upper tier QB and never get over that hurdle. McVay just thought(and hasn't been wrong yet) Goff was never going to be that guy.
    • You literally simply have to think logically for either of those guys. Smith is locked up on a deal for 2025, so we would have to trade for him or he gets cut. Neither of those scenarios are likely in the first place.  Wilson will be 37 in 2025. Why on earth would he have any interest in a situation that is far worse than he was given in Denver and wasn't able to win there? He's a guy that can drop into any ready to win franchise in the NFL and immediately elevate their chances of winning(provided they already have QB issues).  Frankly, that is either speculation that even David Newton should be embarrassed by or it shows how disconnected with reality some people in our organization are.   I do agree with him on getting a veteran QB, however. That's our best chance to keep developing our talent.
